Why was the reddit post source deleted?

Beaver@lemmy.ca on 18 May 2024 23:37 next collapse

I just want the people on lemmy to see this as well.

mbirth@lemmy.mbirth.uk on 19 May 2024 00:38 next collapse

Because it probably was an ID10T problem?

Screemu@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 20 May 2024 00:18 next collapse

Because it’s fake news.

Oh well. Sucks if you use cloud services. Let this be a lesson to you.

Doesn’t bother me one bit but the hater crowd gonna hate. Hears “Apple” thinks “derp”. Good for Lols.

IMHO, a more practical piece of advice would be “wait a week or two before installing point larger point releases.”

People are going to use cloud backups. They like the convenience too much.

B0rax@feddit.de on 19 May 2024 09:40 collapse

To be honest, it is not so easy to do backups of iOS devices without the cloud

Nogami@lemmy.world on 19 May 2024 20:34 collapse

Connect to your computer and click backup when iTunes pops up if you’re running windows. To be honest it’s very easy.

B0rax@feddit.de on 19 May 2024 20:53 collapse

Everything but automatic. And non automatic backups might as well not exist.

simplejack@lemmy.world on 20 May 2024 02:51 collapse

?

You can have an iPhone automatically backup to a computer. It can either do it automatically when it’s plugged in to the computer, or you can turn WiFi backups on, and it will automatically back up when it’s connected to a charger.

The backup experience isn’t too different than what has been happening with iPods for over two decades.

B0rax@feddit.de on 20 May 2024 05:24 next collapse

Really? It works over WiFi? Well then I take back my previous comment. I thought it works only when plugged in to the pc.

Don’t rain on the haters little circlejerk. They’re in Apple enthusiast but they’re clearly not. Need better moderation here.

simplejack@lemmy.world on 22 May 2024 05:07 collapse

Yeah, this community often gets brigaded by iOS and MacOS haters that come over from c/all.

It’s kind of annoying when half of the comments on big threads are from people who are obviously very unfamiliar with the software and products we’re talking about.

Looks like someone gets to work on the weekend.
