Why is this posted, much less upvoted?
Who gives a fuck about a polishing cloth? Sounds like a joke.

Oh, I think we’re all laughing at the inanity of it

I appreciate the randomness and the fact that the polishing cloth is only backwards compatible to the iPhone 5 and iPad 4th gen. No mention of any other devices prior to like 2012 which is kinda funny honestly. It is a polishing cloth. I could use it to dust the display of my Philco Predicta and it would do just fine 😂 (not that I have one…just providing a ridiculous example).

I think this is just a result of the apple store’s accessory recommendation system. Probably so few people use anything older than iPhone 5, it doesn’t make sense to include anything before that.

Oh I know. It is just a ridiculous oversight. Compatibility could have easily been hidden for the page and it would have made more sense lol. This is just poor website implementation. Harmless but also makes them look dumb and pretentious 🤣

Yeah, they put product compatibility for everything on the site. But we also enjoy shit posting about this over priced microfiber cloth every year.

Are the models prior to the iphone 5 even viable? 3G network is long gone at this point, I don’t think they had 4G capability until the 5. They’d be entirely wifi-bound

It’s intentional design, search engine optimisation.

What are you saying? That the polishing cloth needs at least 4G?
At this point? 6G at minimum, with no backwards compatibility.
You might be on to something
Ever wondered why people call Apple fanboys a slang? now you do.
Polishing cloth compatibility? Does using a non apple screen wiping cloth brick the phone now?
Nah, it just takes longer to get the smudges off, and you miss out on the Apple Magic ™ experience
Oh thank God, just the news I
wantedneeded to hear today.Woah, they designed the cloth with forward compatibility? Thanks Tim Apple!
From my frame of reference they designed the phones to be backwards compatible with preexisting accessories.
Surprised they didn’t announce @ the keynote!
The mods need to do something about all the heresy being promulgated!
Execution perhaps?
It’s a shame it’s not compatible with my iPhone 4
Interesting that it doesn’t list the Apple Vision Pro, even though the AVP came with one
That’s a completely different cloth. You can’t use the iPhone polishing cloth on the AVP and vice versa.
