...eh?..

“Scoop”? Maybe I will wait for other sources to confirm this then.

reddig33@lemmy.world on 08 Oct 21:18 collapse

Ok, here’s a trusted source with a similar report, but nothing about “protected class”.

The more that Apple does this sort of thing, the more likely valuable engineering employees are going to start looking for other jobs. Not a smart move, Tim.

I guess it’s because they removed the ICE tracking app. They made them protected because we can’t track them with an app now.

Report ice agents in Apple Maps. Flood their staffed resources.

Stop buying their products. Unsubscribe from services.

This is why owning a naziPhone is like driving a Tesla.

Bad news: android did it too

Google stopped pretending and went full evil a while ago.

Apple still pretends to be a “good” corporation that guards its users privacy and protects them from government overreach.

baggachipz@sh.itjust.works on 08 Oct 22:08 collapse

So then is it all Teslas?

Mynameisallen@lemmy.zip on 08 Oct 22:40 collapse

It’s all Teslas until a Linux phone drops that is ready for prime time. Alternatively you can return to our lord and savior Nokia

MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world on 08 Oct 22:12 collapse

Don’t buy a pixel then.

But definitely don’t buy a naziPhone.

baggachipz@sh.itjust.works on 08 Oct 22:14 next collapse

Ok so buy what then? Go Amish?

You’re overcomplicating this. Tim Fuckface had a farcical bending the knee ceremony, bearing a gold statue in tribute.

Get an android phone from anyone other than Google.

When a viable android alternative shows up, convert.

If you think that google isn’t getting a sweet cut of Samsung, Oneplus, etc. you’re out of your mind

But Apple’s justification went further. “Information provided to Apple by law enforcement shows that your app violates Guideline 1.1.1 because its purpose is to provide location information about law enforcement officers that can be used to harm such officers individually or as a group,” the company wrote in its removal notice.
