Gigglebytes?
For the occasions where you’re uncertain if it’s gigabytes or gibibytes.
at this point, apple laptops have become fancy tablets but i wish there was viable options for arm processor laptops
In what way do you feel like apple laptops are just fancy tablets?
Everything is soldered to the motherboard. Next question?
Does that make an SBC a fancy tablet?
I don’t know, did you plug a touchscreen to your raspberry pi? In that case, yes.
Does an sbc with a keyboard, trackpad and a screen make a laptop?
Do you feel that operating system should be factored into this determination in any way?
You do realize that virtually every device with an arm processor also have soldered ram?
When did I mention ram? But sure, you can throw that on the pile too.
the only real difference is that laptops have a track pad. It’s literally a fancy tablet with a dedicated keyboard.
Or you know, just let the consumers swap the HD and RAM themselves.
I’m ready for CAMM2 to be widely available.
All for the low price of $7,000.
… and here I just upgraded my windows / linux laptops to 32gb unified memory ram…
edit: salty downvoters don’t know I used to run intel macbooks and would always max out the RAM on them… it made them run good.
Also Windows ran faster than macOS on the same systems.
I have 24 GB on my M2. The real news is Apple finally having a good amount of RAM in the base model.
