Requires ios 18

MisanthropiCynic@lemmy.today on 07 Aug 16:10 collapse

I would expect everybody was already on some version of it since iOS 26 launches in weeks

homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world on 07 Aug 16:42 next collapse

Some of us are locked to 17

Mongostein@lemmy.ca on 08 Aug 00:13 collapse

Huh? They’re jumping from 18 to 26?

Yes

Has anyone vetted this is actually from the main author and not a scammer posing as him? I see no mention of this on the main website or GitHub.

It does state it doesn’t collect any data. So that’s helpful. But I don’t know if that is according to any kind of automated testing or if it is simply a declaration by the author before submitting it to apple for review.

Yeah… I’m just concerned about some kind of malware payload or spyware. It’s been ramping up in vectors traditionally free from it, so trying to be careful with something that is designed to literally constantly monitor web usage. A spyware recording all the inputs and outputs of like… your bank website or healthcare… sub-optimal.

i agree the documentation should be more clear.

Awesome, thanks. github is a pain in the butt to navigate, so I must have just missed it. Appreciated.

thank fuck. i was getting sick of how uncustomisable adguard is

MisanthropiCynic@lemmy.today on 07 Aug 16:11 next collapse

it’s weird that tapping settings under the extensions just takes you to a blank webpage

cholesterol@lemmy.world on 07 Aug 16:36 next collapse

Anyone who’s given it a good run and want to share?

acosmichippo@lemmy.world on 21 Aug 19:32 next collapse

I tried it for the last couple weeks and went back to wipr2, mainly because wipr cleans up cookie pop ups. maybe there is a way to do it with ubol but i didn’t feel like fucking with it.

androidul@lemmy.world on 23 Aug 18:33 collapse

I’m using it on all Apple devices ever since the day it was launched (3w ago), works flawlessly.

Even blocks YouTube ads … basically the same uBO as you’d typically have on Firefox, Chrome etc.

I have had the extension for quite a while, I think in TestFlight however, PiHole handles 99% of my filtering so I never really noticed the extension in full effect.
