Linux has better fanart than FreeBSD, though OpenBSD’s is even better. I’ll ask Clara if she’d be up for making some.

This sent me down a BSD rabbit hole last night, and now I have to try it.

I got started with OpenBSD and loved the old pf package - so much simpler than chains and tables. Have since been using a mix of redhat/centros/ubuntu as servers. It’s been a while since I looked at a BSD, so the whole jails vs docker debate was news to me. I know where I stand on it though: no docker is a non-starter. Not trying to throw shade at freeBSD, or pick a fight - but that the article barely mentions containerisation, and doesn’t even mention docker, is … surprising.

Other users can correct me, but most of us are cool with chroots or VMs where Docker/containerization would normally be required. OpenBSD also now has pledge(2) and unveil(2), which isn’t a jail in the traditional sense, but it can effectively serve as one in some usecases.
