As someone else said, Prevent is also an option (which would include backup in my opinion).

Though backups can get encrypted too, if it’s not setup to prevent this.

Prevent, in my opinion, is the path.

Fair, backups can be done for all sorts of purposes. In my opinion tho, they should be airgapped

Leak extortion is the main issue nowadays, not covered by backups, I’m afraid.

Good luck leaking into unplugged ssd in a family member’s office. It’s a little offline and airgapped. My system gets a full reset whenever I have the slightest doubt anything is off
