Just copying my post from R/Espresso last year for context. I’ll add another posts for my one year update.

Seen a lot of posts on this grinder and machine. Just wanted to add my notes as a new coffee drinker/maker

I started my search with the GCP but decided that the Profitec was the way to go given that it was similar price of a fully modded GCP without looking like it has been modded out. Overall I’m pretty happy with the Profitec Go it’s pretty feature packed and well built at the price point, but there is a list of things I’d look for if I was looking for a new machine.

Profitec Go

If I was buying a machine again at a similar price point again I’d take closer look at these:

Was mostly a toss between Sette 270, DF64 and DF64P. Ended up with the DF64P since it seemed to be the better single dose grinder.

DF64P Grinder

I’ll probably be swapping the DF64P out with a Niche zero, Timemore Sculptor, Lagom P64 or Kafatek Monolith Max. Would probably get the latter two used.

Curious about the prefilled little jars - Idk much about espresso, what are those measured amounts for?

They’re just measured to my usual 20g dose. It nice to not have to weigh my beans before I’m properly caffeinated.

Thanks! I had an idea that was what they were for. Were that I was organized and forward thinking as that!

Very beautiful setup. Thank you for sharing. What is the little table that sticks out from the counter?

SamuelRJankis@lemmy.world on 13 Dec 2023 23:22 collapse

It’s a compost thing I used as a knock box. Actually stopped using it and just used a bowl.

I like the bean dose containers! How are they to use? Do they keep your beans fresh?

SamuelRJankis@lemmy.world on 13 Dec 2023 23:35 collapse

They’re okay since everything is from Ikea it’s 1/20 the cost of the Webber ones. Workflow wise it’s just nice to not have to deal with a extra step every morning.

It’s only for a week at a time so it doesn’t make much difference freshness wise. I keep most of the bean in the James Hoffman recommended Tightpac America Coffeevac container or the freezer. I will say with my bean preferences I find most of the subtle flavors are gone around 30 days after roasting.

Fair, thanks for sharing! In my case, I tend to like very lightly roasted coffee, so sometimes several months of waiting are necessary.
