Update on the hexbear.net situation (chapo.chat)

On the meta update, a previous admin was able to get the hexbear.net domain back, and we were able to established shared access. We are thankful for everything that they have done as this site would not exist without them, with this shared access the stress of site administration has been lessened.

during the domain change new accounts created a new table in the database and are associated with @chapo.chat so we are cleaning that up and doing some security-oriented tasks before re-federation

Edit to add: hexbear.chat is currently broken, which may confuse a few users who’d been told not to go to hexbear.net anymore.

Excellent, really glad that was able to get resolved. We’ve had to deal with domain name issues here too, its an extremely stressful experience that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.
