I have a feeling you’re fun at parties.

Edit - huh. This wasn’t sarcastic. Dude literally gave no shade.

that statement has been used so universally sarcastically that no one believes you’re being serious when you say it now.

Coomer.su for only fans and fansly

Kemono.su for patreon and a whole bunch of other stuff

I would have thought there should be several hurdles for a FederatedFans type site: money being one, legality being another and content control a third. How do you ensure your content is only showed to paying members once it’s been federated?

However Mitra seems to exist, though I have no further info about it as I literally only found it just now.

I don’t think there is a federated alternative but there are alternatives that are at least marginally less shitty, if that helps

Thanks!!

Big big risk here having spent last 6 years working for the largest provider of adult live porn cams, FOSS isn’t the issue but regulation and safety and infrastructure to ensure everyone participating is a consenting adult and not being trafficked or abused is a huge problem around the world. I may incur downvotes for this opinion, but this is a space where it SHOULD be regulated with a lot of checks and balances. You don’t want to accidentally come across CSAM and have that cached in your temp files for so many reasons.

hoshikarakitaridia@lemmy.world on 18 Jun 18:36 next collapse

The Csam caching is the worst issue.

So many countries basically regulate that if you have Csam on your PC you can go to jail. So if you’re hosting, and even if it gets deleted, that still means it was on the server. And that shit is bad.

Legally frightening.

I don’t see how anyone can blame you for this oppinion, and I’ll happily say I agree 100%. It’s basically known for a fact that anywhere sex work is unregulated, unmonitored etc… are almost universally used by traffickers, underage participants etc… and if we are talking video hosting, then revenge porn etc… Gotta fully agree, this is the category I want the site operators across the board to have the government breathing down their neck saying “You better damn well do everything humanly possible to prove this video was made with uncoerced consent of someone old enough to make that choice”.

Technology isn’t the hard part of OF. Money and moderation are. Most of the big payment suppliers like PayPal and credit card companies are vary about porn or outright ban it. So you need a partner who will take the money from customers and give it to you. And then you might need a different (or same) partner to give the money to the content creators.

And all the time you have to make sure that none of the creators are hosting illegal material or something that is not allowed by the money transfer providers.

But from the point of view of the creators all the money handling is the biggest service OF provides.
