But what if you just shared the link in “captcha” style so the censorshop ai doesn’t detect it?

MrMakabar@slrpnk.net on 13 Jan 10:06 next collapse

There are ways around it, like link shorteners and so forth, but the main point is that Meta is afraid.

Bots are already better than humans at solving Captchas, that probably won’t work

Not true. It was most likely a spam filter. Images and longer messages work fine.

Can't have competition now, can we? That would lead to innovation. (and the gold-plated dinner table set missing on the new yacht)

Didn't this also happen on Reddit when people were posting the alternatives? Links/posts got removed, the subreddit about alternatives got shut down

sith@lemmy.zip on 13 Jan 17:25 collapse

Facebook has always been removing posts and comments containing links to Fediverse. At least they did a couple of years ago. But it doesn’t happen all the time, so there is some kind decision making algorithm.

sith@lemmy.zip on 13 Jan 17:22 next collapse

Didn’t get banned, but they marked the post as spam. That was 3 days ago. Maybe they’re blocking now as well.

My instagram profile says that I have moved to Pixelfed and has a link to my Pixelfed profile. It has been up for over a year.
