Taken as a whole from a historical standpoint this is certainly so, current events notwithstanding. I predict a lot of salty people reading your comment are going to studiously ignore the fact that Europe as it stands now has been shaped pretty much purely by thousands of years worth of wars, which required the invention of all kinds of weapons and warfare tactics. And that’s before the European powers took all that on the road in the colonial era.
Also, there’s a reason why Europe is called a fortress. And it’s not because fascism and totalitarianism is blocked out by any means, but instead humans in need.
Unless they’re like right wing or nationalist, people are in general not in denial about our past. More or less the same as in other countries

Looks like a fun festival! It’s a weird juxtaposition to see, I like it. I’ll find an æbleskiver stand eventually (more common in the winter) and snap a pic for comparison 🥳
The festival is a hoot. I missed it this year, but each day focuses on a different country. Music, food, folkdancing, costumes, the works.
