What could cause Fediseer to fail to send verification messages?

I’m trying to add my instance to Fediseer at gui.fediseer.com/auth/claim-instance so it can federate.

When I try to send the message, I get an error saying: There was an api error: API Key PM failed

I’m not really sure how to diagnose something like this, but I tried sudo docker logs [ID of nginx container] and one of the entries says “POST /inbox HTTP/1.1” 400 86 “-” “Fediseer/0.25.1” after I try sending the message.

I’m assuming this has something to do with it, but I’m not sure if that’s true or how to fix it even if it is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

!fediseer@lemmy.dbzer0.com is probably the better place to ask.

What software is your instance?

It’s Lemmy running BE: 0.19.12

That’s weird to get a 400 reply from lemmy tbh. I don’t think anything changed on the inbox to cause that and you’re the first one who mentions this. I’ll see if I can test

It’s very likely an issue on my end. I’m quite new to this and still trying to figure it out. I simply don’t know much on how to identify these issues or what to change when they come up.
