Today’s game is Uncharted 4. I’m not sure what it is, but something has drawn me to come full circle (for the 3rd time) with this game. It turns out I’ve had it installed on my Steam Deck this entire time I’ve been away from my Main rig, and after finishing up The Last of Us last night, I just was left wanting Uncharted 4. Are we sure Naughty Dog isn’t lacing their game with Meth? Because it sure feels like it.

This time I’m going to try and go for the last two achievements I need for 4, which is the Sub 6 hours one and the 70% accuracy, After that I’ll just have Lost Legacy to complete. Honestly I’m a bit afraid to commit to it. Uncharted was one of the first games I really owned myself, and by finishing up 4, it kind of feels like finishing the franchise. I suppose at some point though I’ll need to accept that it’s over and this is the end. I appreciate they didn’t drag it out, but I do wish for a PC port of the first 3 games. I feel like as an experience they need it so they aren’t locked to the PS3/PS4 generations.

Enough of me mourning though, I got to play this blown up on a big fancy plasma TV and it looked damn good. Beyond that though, I got to see details I missed on the tiny screen. The ammo in Nathan’s office has physics! I legit accidentally kicked it down the ladder while in a cutscene! It’s a cool detail that I thought was scripted at first, but nope. All the physics engine.

The graphics look spectacular too. I’m playing on low, upscaled too 1080p on Balanced with little to no sharpening, and the game looks amazing. It’s like Naughty Dog took everything they learned with the PS3 and fucking sprinted with it. It looks amazing, I bet the baked lighting really helps with that too. For example, look at this water. It’s so good looking. Like, it’s rare water looks this good. And it’s the middle of some industrial river! I shouldn’t want to drink this.

The game can be a bit jarring compared to the first 3 as it’s a far more serious tone, but I do think it’s a proper send off to the franchise. It really does it justice that this is the end of the mainline games.

Hopefully I can stay committed to this, we’ll see though. I also have to continue Prey when I get back to my main rig and continue Wind Waker too. I’m excited (and a bit sad) that I’m trying to finish this though.

Why we can’t have nice things?.. Like Uncharted 5?

I definitely wouldn’t mind a prequel or a Side Game like lost legacy. It’s a good franchise and ND had something great

I bought this recently and started playing but put it down because I found it boring but I did the same for TLOU and came back to it months later and now that game is in my top 10 all time lol.

They’re definitely something i think someone needs to be in the mood for, but damn, when you’re in the mood for them they’re some of the best things you can play. Naughty Dog really knows how to make the best of what they’re working with. It makes me curious to see whats next

I 100% Wind Waker myself a few years ago. So much damn fun, but i don’t think i could ever do it again. It took so much out of me. Respect to you though for 100% it, i know how much work that is
