Room Designer Simulator is a game where players can play minigames in order to earn gamecoins and buy various assets with this fictional currency. The game is designed in 8-bit style and features a single room in isometric view. Thanks to isometric projection, players can experience the illusion of depth when looking at the room they’re designing. This is a major upgrade from the classical 2D perspective where a room’s inside can only show floor and one side of a wall but since other three wall sides are invisible to players, the illusion of a 3D-like environment isn’t very strong.

The game includes various minigames – Snake, Catch the Fruit and Bullet Hell. Gamecoins that players earn in these minigames can be then used to buy room assets in the shop. After an item is purchased, it appears in the inventory and during selection, players can place it on floor or wall by clicking on a desired tile in the room.

The game also features an asset selling system, so if players don’t want a particular asset in their room anymore, they can click on it to pick it up and then sell it in the inventory.

As a concept, I really like it and I'm actually actively looking for games like these that just allow me to design rooms. That being said, I'm not really fond of the whole minigame thing in the way they are currently. To me, it feels like something that is just in the way of me accessing the gameplay, which is designing the room itself.

I do understand the want and the need to like gatekeep items, as to not overwhelm players with option in a fully sandbox mode, but this looks more like busywork. I don't know. That being said, I really love the art style and I'm quite interested in this.

Have you heard of MakeRoom (on Steam)? That’s also a game where you can design rooms (and vans and ships)

Thanks for the feedback! Before I started working on the game, I thought about how I used to play Growtopia, which is a sandbox game that contained large amount of assets. Now, it took some time for players to obtain them. This was quite a hassle but at the same time it felt satisfying when you had some very rare item. For me personally, I do enjoy playing these little minigames I have in the main game since I like a bit of challenge but I don’t mind for example tweaking prices of various assets :)
