Until the higher ups at EA read that post and tell them to “fix” it
“There are no microtransactions in pvz replanted, at launch. Can’t say a week after that, when the execs decide we aren’t milking gamer enough” - full quote probably
@TabbsTheBat@pawb.social But yeah, shouldn't get our hopes too high, after all this is EA we are talking about...
@games@lemmy.world
We dont do microtransactions anymore. We do now macrotransactions.
Basically the Paradox dlc model, which has pros and cons.
Pro: The game recieves multiple years of continued bug support & content releases
Con: $500 for EU4
Aren’t those just expansions?
Yeah, and fortunately the DLC the host has ourchased alis available to all party members when doing multiplayer, even if others haven’t purchased it. I would say that PI does DLC properly.
If it’s like Cities Skylines then that’s pretty decent. I never bought a DLC and yet I got lots of content updates on an already great base game

Yeah that’s why I commented
No microtransactions “yet” got a wait for the reviews to come out to put them in
Didn’t they do this with some BF? Or am I thinking of Activision with some CoD? Whatever, same shite.
Do not trust EA.
I wanna say yes, I know a few different companies did it. I think Capcom did it too. But yes don’t trust EA. They’ve proven time and again they can’t be trusted and don’t really care about delivering a good product that’s anything but a cash grab
Capcom did, with Dragon’s Dogma 2.
i know activision did it with the crash team racing remake. at launch, you could buy in game items (like racers) with in-game currency. it’s a currency you only obtained through playing the game, you couldn’t buy it with real money.
…until activision made it possible to buy the in game currency, and to accompany that, tremendously raised the price of all the items to entice you to pay…
This ia worthless, even if it was an official promise I’d never trust EA. Also, I fully expect a kernel-level anticheat. We’ll see after it’s out for a few years, I’m not dumb enough to buy a game that’s not 75% off.
This doesn’t mean dick
Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled
Marvel’s Avengers
Invalid.
I’m still angry about CTR. I was so hyped for that remake but didn’t buy immediately at launch so I’d avoid the launch bugs… and then they added the microtransactions. I will not pay for a game that has microtransactions, so I haven’t played it. The originals are still a blast though.
Pre-order bonuses are a garbage anti-customer practice anyway.
