The first thing i noticed is the awful amount of TAA/Upscaling artefacting. Apart from that it looks good i guess. I mean its GTA. It will probably be an enjoyable game. But still: Fuck Rockstar. Fuck Take2.

ampersandrew@lemmy.world on 06 May 14:03 next collapse

Why?

jonesy@aussie.zone on 06 May 14:40 collapse

You mean aside from abandoning RDR Online, cancelling GTA V singleplayer DLC in favour of GTA Online shark cards, intentionally delaying the PC release of GTA V to maximise the number of people who would buy the game more than once because of FOMO, absolute dog shit support and punishing their community by crushing the modding community? I’m not sure.

ampersandrew@lemmy.world on 06 May 14:48 next collapse

I’m not sure what support you’re talking about, and I’ve never delved into mods for GTA V, but the rest are just sensible business decisions, at least up until now; we’ll see how the different modern dynamic between consoles and PC plays out this time, but I think it’s the last time they’ll do it. As with all these exclusivity deals that are quickly dying out, that PC version will come, and that’s when I’ll play it.

jonesy@aussie.zone on 06 May 15:02 collapse

Sensible business decisions definitely make the best games.

ampersandrew@lemmy.world on 06 May 15:08 collapse

I don’t know why you’re being nasty to me. I genuinely wasn’t sure why someone would have an issue with Rockstar. If they don’t want to make story DLC for GTA V, it’s much the same as Valve not making a Portal 3. I can just move on and play something else. Focusing on a console release first and foremost, especially for a project as ambitious as this, made a lot more sense in the past, and maybe was still common wisdom when the project got rolling. It will stop due to natural market forces. Speaking of natural market forces, it’s exactly why RDR2 Online would be abandoned: there weren’t enough people to care about it compared to its costs. Modding isn’t really my world, so I wouldn’t exactly be privy to those shenanigans, but that sucks.

TORFdot0@lemmy.world on 06 May 16:02 next collapse

I don’t think he’s being nasty to you. His frustration is with Rockstar for abandoning GTA to sell microtransactions instead of make content. A lot of people are mad at valve for not making Half-Life/Portal/Left4Dead 3 just like a lot of people are mad at Rockstar for taking 13 years to release a new GTA game.

ampersandrew@lemmy.world on 06 May 16:05 collapse

Personally, I don’t think that’s worth getting mad over, especially not in this saturated market right now where there’s always something great to play. Valve worked on Half-Life, Portal, and Left 4 Dead many times since their last iterations, but you have to give creatives time to throw out what’s not working. And plenty of game developers I like work on plenty of stuff I’m not interested in. I just wait for them to come back around to the stuff I am interested in. In the case of live service stuff, it sucks, but Rockstar’s hardly unique there.

jonesy@aussie.zone on 06 May 16:56 collapse

100%, I think people getting frustrated over the time between GTA 5 and GTA 6 don’t appreciate the time it takes to build a game on this scale. Rockstar definitely deserve credit for the worlds they build and their focus on delivering an exceptional game.

jonesy@aussie.zone on 06 May 16:47 collapse

Sorry if I came across as nasty, my disdain is entirely with Rockstar and T2. After GTAIV, and the exceptional story and DLC we got many of us were excited to see what DLC was in store for GTAV. To have Rockstar to walk back the planned DLC in favour pushing shark cards and micro-transactions in GTA Online left many of us feeling pretty betrayed at the time.

Regarding the launch, GTAV originally came out on Xbox 360 and PS3 in September 2013, then on a new console generation in November 2014, and didn’t come to PC until April 2015. Many were doubtful that a company with the resources and talent available to Rockstar needed such a delay, and it stank of another tactic to maximise the number of people buying multiple copies.

ampersandrew@lemmy.world on 06 May 16:53 collapse

Gotcha. No worries. I’m more disappointed that basically everyone in the industry stopped making crime stories except for Yakuza, but we’ve got two coming this year, at least, in MindsEye and Mafia: The Old Country.

paraphrand@lemmy.world on 06 May 18:26 collapse

It took them until this year to finally start addressing rampant cheating in GTAO PC.

The most profitable game in history, and they couldn’t muster a solution to the hacking/bullshit until now.

SausageWallet@lemm.ee on 08 May 08:46 collapse

Did they finally do something about the modders on GTAV online? I used to play but ended up with a stalker that made the game unplayable for me because he would kick me anytime I got online, for weeks. I had to download one of the paid mod menus to stay hidden from him until I just didn’t feel like paying for that anymore and just gave up and stopped playing. It was extremely frustrating to say the least.

paraphrand@lemmy.world on 08 May 16:23 collapse

Yeah, they finally added one of the common anti-cheat tools to it. No anti-cheat is perfect, but it has made a huge difference.

BombOmOm@lemmy.world on 06 May 14:27 next collapse

As long as they let you turn off the upscaling I won’t complain about it. Unfortunately there has been a trend as of late to force it on; the artifacting drives me nuts. It’s always harder to to see in youtube videos though, since they are compressed quite a bit compared to live play.

Biggest thing that concerns me was their focus on pushing one into multiplayer in V. I’m worried that is going to intensify since it made them so damn much money doing that last time.

Either way, game isn’t out for a year, and it isn’t out for PC for probably two years. So, just going to go back to enjoying my Breath of Fire IV playthrough I’m currently doing. :)

No PC no buy. Fuck your console exclusive bullshit I ain’t double dipping this time

ampersandrew@lemmy.world on 06 May 14:06 next collapse

I don’t think a lot of people are going to double dip this time. This game will sell consoles, but it’s not going to make up for the deficit the console market has compared to how many PS3s and Xbox 360s were out there in 2013.

[deleted] on 06 May 14:16 next collapse

.

circuitfarmer@lemmy.sdf.org on 06 May 15:11 next collapse

I really hope this is true. The only thing that will stop Rockstar from the delayed PC release nonsense in the future is actually stopping the double dip.

I ended up with a PS4 just for Red Dead 2. But I still haven’t bought it on PC and have no plans to do so.

The thing is, the PS4 kind of made sense because I also wanted a Blu-Ray player. I still have it for that, so a PS5 would be an impossible sell to me. It’s like Rockstar tries to sell consoles but this time around is one of the worst ever console eras.

SolarPunker@slrpnk.net on 06 May 15:17 collapse

So you don’t have a 4k blu-ray player? Consoles still make sense for many people, despite the obvious market issues we have today.

circuitfarmer@lemmy.sdf.org on 06 May 15:20 collapse

No 4k TV either. I don’t really see the point.

SolarPunker@slrpnk.net on 06 May 15:24 collapse

Well, 4k is a great technology for gaming and cinema, highly recommended if you have the space.

ampersandrew@lemmy.world on 06 May 15:34 next collapse

I’m with them; my 1080p TV still gets the job done and looks great to me. Maybe I’d be more invested in cinema if cinema cared more about what I want. I can’t even walk into brick and mortar and buy a movie anymore, and it’s not like there’s a GOG for movies.

SolarPunker@slrpnk.net on 06 May 15:42 next collapse

Yeah if you care about cinema you definely want a better resolution and considering to buy your UHD versions whenever available, but I could say the same for some modern videogames.

MBech@feddit.dk on 06 May 15:46 next collapse

My tv is 4k, but I exclusively watch 1080p movies and series on it. I’m not going to double my subscription costs just to get 4k streaming, and most piratable files are 1080p.

dustyData@lemmy.world on 06 May 16:56 next collapse

Piracy has been on 4K for longer than streaming has been charging extra for it. New releases on the scene have actually started skipping FHD unless explicitly requested.

SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 08 May 07:55 collapse

Yar har har

SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 08 May 07:54 collapse

There’s a time and place for 4k. It is not all the time. But some things are treats with high resolution and pixels-per-fov of your vision. Also oled looks so, so good.

That being said, 1080p for older stuff looks perfectly fine, and I’d argue audio quality, audio stereo image, and accurate frequency spectrum resolution is game changing, and arguably more important.

RE: gog for movies: that is a fascinating idea. What would that look like, to you? I’m very curious.

ampersandrew@lemmy.world on 08 May 11:18 collapse

I just need to be able to buy and download DRM-free movies. Outside of that, I don’t care what it looks like. Movie studios put so much DRM on my Blu Rays that they’re a pain to rip (but notably, not impossible to rip), and “digital copies” of movies are just long term rentals. Meanwhile the movie industry is on fire while their old revenue streams dry up, and they’re scratching their heads as to where they went wrong.

drasglaf@sh.itjust.works on 06 May 15:41 collapse

highly recommended if you have the space.

And the money. Especially if you game on PC.

SolarPunker@slrpnk.net on 06 May 15:44 next collapse

That’s another reason consoles still make sense for many gamers.

PS. From a PC player

drasglaf@sh.itjust.works on 06 May 16:38 collapse

I’ve been a PC player for 2 decades now, but it’s getting so expensive! I can’t go back to consoles after being so free, but high end PC gaming is probably over for me. I feel one of my biggest mistakes was buying my first 1440p monitor, everything gets more expensive and I put myself in that position.

SolarPunker@slrpnk.net on 06 May 17:08 next collapse

As a “game purist” I’ve a 1080p desktop setup for PC and retro, I’m planning to build a full 4k space in the future for this/next gen; 2k is a particular spot, more work oriented, but it can be used to play better well-optimized PC games that don’t need a 4k gamepad experience (I think it hardly depends on the screen size and how it’s placed). I would also really like to buy a real CRT in the future!

drasglaf@sh.itjust.works on 06 May 17:48 collapse

I own a NEC CRT and I use it even for modern games every now and then. I beat Silent Hill 2 Remake on it last year and it looks great. I can’t remember which resolution it was, but I only lost a bit of screen on top and bottom so it was playable even if the game didn’t come with 4:3 support.

dustyData@lemmy.world on 06 May 17:11 next collapse

I’ve always been a midrange gamer. It is getting expensive. But a mid range PC is still as powerful as a console for a roughly similar price. I’m in for the gameplay, not so much the ultra high graphics.

drasglaf@sh.itjust.works on 06 May 17:49 collapse

I’ve always enjoyed trying new technologies such as Ray Tracing or HDR, but all in all I agree with you, gameplay comes first. That’s why I’ve been falling in love with indie games more and more.

chunkystyles@sopuli.xyz on 07 May 03:56 collapse

I’ve always been a mid-range gamer. When I was younger, that’s just what I could afford. As I’ve grown older, I didn’t see the point of spending more for high end. Mid-range already feels too expensive. But luckily, the parts last for 5 years easily.

SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 08 May 08:31 collapse

Just play at 1080p on your 1440p monitor. Also take solace knowing that everybody is in the same boat and complaining that studios are putting too much time into making things look real rather than good or be fun. So we’re in a sort of pre-renaissance with socioeconomics and tech business. Something’s got to give, and it ain’t Valve, hopefully. That would be a disaster, as they’re a lot more important than any of us know. They lead the gaming sector and business in the gaming sector, which leads the tech and entertainment sectors, which ultimately translate to the rest of society. And they lead with… Integrity and consumer friendly practices.

Also, tell AAA to fuck off until they get their acts together. Stop playing live service games, and just play other, better games high-endedly. They don’t have to be brand new, either. Look for independent studios, smaller studios, and/or non-American studios. It’s okay to play big titles when they’re good, but the actual good games haven’t been in AAA or big American published studios now for like ten years. Every once in a while in that space, an anomaly appears, but those are the exceptions to the rule.

If you want, you can focus on peripherals like nice headphones or steering wheel or a good controller for your pc. Those, combined with playing more genres and exploring different things (keep an eye on humble bundle, too! And epic store free games!) can really keep your libraries full and feeling fresh.

The lucrative and naive kids stay the same age for studios, but we all grow up eventually, and if we still love gaming, we need to demand better from studios by speaking up and not buying garbage. The older, experienced demographic that has realized the bullshit is just going to grow bigger, we aren’t going away, and we WANT to buy games. It’s only a matter of time before more studios realize this and cater to us rather than make the same garbage that only the inexperienced can play, just slightly shinier each year.

drasglaf@sh.itjust.works on 08 May 11:52 collapse

Maybe I’m wrong, but I think there’s going to be a crash in the industry sooner rather than later. The situation is becoming unsustainable.

vonxylofon@lemmy.world on 08 May 06:22 collapse

I’m watching things in 4K and playing in 1080p. It’s exactly four times the pixels, so it’s pixel-perfect scaling and it looks fine. (58" TV and the sofa is about 3 metres far, so a bit on the smallish side. I’m sure a 65" would look just as good.)

SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 08 May 08:16 collapse

Woah 3 meters is really far for a 60 inch. I have a 60 inch at about 1-1.4 meters and it’s great. Perfect for two people on a couch with some nice bookshelf speakers heavily toe’d in. It’s not great for entertaining, but for watching things it’s honestly better than some theaters.

It’s all about how much it fills up your field of vision and how closely your retina’s resolution matches the display’s resolution. I don’t want to have to turn my head at all to see things, and still be able to use my peripheral vision to have good awareness of the entire scene, and not see individual pixels if I can help it. But, still have it fill as much of my vision as possible while within those constraints.

Been wanting to upgrade to a 70-80 inch screen, too, at the same distance.

Another big variable is height placement of the tv in relation to one’s head height and angle while comfortably sitting where you’ll sit. Sit, close your eyes, sit comfortably, play with tilting your head forwards and back until you find a comfortable and sustainable pitch angle, with your eyes still closed look directly out from your skull, open your eyes, and that location is where the middle of your tv should be (it’s usually about 10-20degrees down from directly ahead, but is different for everybody and your seating position and body). So if your tv is 3meters away, your optimum tv height might be on the literal floor. (And also speaker woofer and cabinet size for the volume of the room (bigger speakers for bigger rooms), and placement, depending on viewership location and count, go for an equilateral triangle between your seating position and the two speakers and default to having the tweeters at ear height with no obstructions and pointing at your ears for the most accurate imaging and least amount of comb filtering, and keep the woofers and tweeters vertically aligned to minimize time variance, which is good for stereo image, and try not to have you or speakers too close to walls or especially corners).

vonxylofon@lemmy.world on 09 May 10:09 collapse

I’m not disputing anything you are saying, but it kinda depends on whether you are building a cinema room or a living room.

Khrux@ttrpg.network on 08 May 12:33 collapse

Back in 2013, I bought an old PS3 + GTA5 for £150 or so just to play the game, then once I had it, picked up two more exclusives, before never touching it again pretty quickly.

Getting a console for GTA6, plus the game, this time may set me back more than my expendable income after rent and bills. It will absolutely sell consoles but I’d wager people are actually able to buy a console much less than in 2013.

DoucheBagMcSwag@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 07 May 02:30 collapse

What is annoying as hell is Rockstar not getting with the times and acknowledging PC as a viable option existing in the gaming space.

Microsoft is pivoting towards it entirely and and Sony is leaning on it.

Psythik@lemm.ee on 07 May 02:47 next collapse

Again, it’s coming to PC. Every GTA game comes to PC eventually. Rockstar purposely waits 6+ months to announce the PC version, because they know people like you will double dip. It happens every single time, and you keep falling for it.

I’m not saying that Rockstar is in the right for doing it this way, but they keep doing it cause you keep forgetting that they do this every time. The downvotes prove it; none of y’all ever learn. That’s why I’m so annoyed.

What part of “I’m not buying it twice this time” did you not understand?

Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 07 May 06:21 collapse

It’s a double dipping technique.
First all players are hyped for GTA6, some even buying a console to experience it on launch day.
Then the PC release get’s out 1-2 years later and everyone with a capable rig know it will run better there and buy it again.

Assuming it will be a 80€ game, they now made 160€ in revenue instead of 80.

I'm reminded of the quote "Don't let perfect get in the way of good." and I'm beginning to wonder if that's what's going on here? Are they delaying a good game because it's not "perfect" or are they just so incompetent that they have to keep going back to "fix" things???

And watch, when it does come out it'll be buggy as hell. Everyone will be asking "You've had all of this time. Why are there so many bugs?" and Rockstar will just shrug their shoulders all of the way to the bank.

But, as a result of their robberies, something from either of their pasts comes back to bite them. Maybe Lucia has some connections to the cartels and is the reason why she got canned. Or Jason got her out by doing making a deal with someone he shouldn’t have. Either way, kinda like what happened with Michael in the last game, they’re forced to work with the cartels and corrupt cops. And, eventually, it gets to the point that they’ve become so infamous that either the cops are cartels have it out for them. But, they offer them a deal. To either Jason or Lucia. You wanna live? Kill the other. If you don’t, you’re both dead. That’s gives us multiple endings like GTA V. Either Lucia dies, Jason, or both.

If it’s anything like Bonnie and Clyde, the ending is not going to be fun.

I second this. I would use an epic account like a burner account and just get all those free giveaways. Heroic works for the Amazon prime games as well. I played a little bit of trek to Yomi the other day because I had a friend mentioned it was free on epic and I didn’t even realize I already had it.

Just a warning to those interested like me:

  • they don’t explicitly mention Rockstar Launcher compatibility (unless I missed it somewhere)
  • they mention possibility of a ban when trying to use online features through their launcher.

So hypothetically, if GTA VI comes to PC, this may not be a workaround for Rockstar Launcher, and even if it is, online might be a sketchy.

everyone is mad about the lack of pc port. im just glad her ass is great.

Psythik@lemm.ee on 07 May 01:31 next collapse

Y’all have been doing this with every GTA release since the very beginning of the series. I don’t know why everyone keeps falling for it. The PC port is coming; it always does. Most likely around Q4 2027, or Q2 2028 at the very latest.

Rockstar does this because people have very short term memories. They’re banking on your forgetfulness so that you’ll buy the console version, and then the PC version as well when they announce it a year later. The Rockstar double dip is their signature move.

Maybe I’m just old, but I feel like all the people complaining about no PC port at launch, or how this trailer doesn’t show gameplay must be ‘new’ to the series (which to be fair, could mean as much as a decade).

This is how Rockstar have pretty much always done it, going all the way back to GTA3 on the PlayStation 2; PC ports have always been 6+ months after.

Trailer 1 tends to be about the setting, Trailer 2 about the primary characters, then Trailer 3/4 about the supporting characters. ‘Gameplay Trailers’ usually don’t come out around/after launch as that’s usually what’s being still being worked on by the devs.

DoucheBagMcSwag@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 07 May 03:04 next collapse

We will always complain about the lack of a PC port at launch… especially in this era.

We’re not going away

thatKamGuy@sh.itjust.works on 07 May 04:13 next collapse

Feel free to complain, no one is trying to stop you. Just understand though that you are screaming into the void, and nothing will come of it bar heightened cortisol.

Grand Theft Auto is the arguably the most profitable gaming franchise ever, and it got there doing this exact release cadence. Rockstar Games & Take-Two Interactive will continue to do so for as long as it continues to maximise profits.

Does it stuck for us gamers? Absolutely, but that’s just Capitalism. Given how quickly this hobby has been enshittified over the post decade, we should probably be counting our lucky stars that it looks like Rockstar is still investing heavily into the next entry, and not just pumping out shallow annual releases like Call of Duty!

Woht24@lemmy.world on 08 May 07:47 collapse

Wasted breath.

I’d be surprised if they did release on console and PC at the time. Literally hasn’t been done by Rockstar yet, so why would they start now?

Xatolos@reddthat.com on 08 May 13:10 collapse

Rockstar was a PC gaming company before they went into consoles. GTA 1 and 2 were made for PC before being ported to console.

Am I the only one who absolutely hates GTA?

It’s bland as fuck and somehow people go and fucking play the same shitty mechanic game for hundreds of hours for 13 years, not even mentioning the fact that they buy it 3 fucking times.

It’s not even out and I already absolutely hate this game and how everyone is hyping it to be next coming of Jesus when it’s going to be EXACTLY the same as the other ones with crappy storyline and a basic af gameplay

echodot@feddit.uk on 07 May 06:44 next collapse

Then why comment?

WhiteBurrito@lemmy.world on 07 May 14:52 collapse

Because the game isn’t even out and the people are treating it like the next coming of Jesus.

Their games are “Fine”, but for some reason people just go absolutely nuts over the same bland mindless gameplay from 13 years ago.

FilthyHookerSpit@lemmy.world on 07 May 06:57 next collapse

You could’ve just said that it’s not your cup of tea. Seems like you have a grudge against it. Which is fine, but for people who enjoy the series, your comment can feel like an attack on their preference.

WhiteBurrito@lemmy.world on 07 May 14:54 collapse

It isn’t my cup of tea, what bothers me is the EXTREME overhype. It’s not normal.

Literally EVERY social media I have has posts of people analyzing frame by frame of a stupid trailer, like… Wtf.

I get people being excited, but it’s a trailer, it’s not the next coming of Jesus

callouscomic@lemm.ee on 07 May 08:53 next collapse

Pro tip, if your sentence ever begins with “am I the only one…” then just stop and completely reconsider how you want to present the point you want to make. Just make the point. Lose the fluff.

You aren’t the only one. Nobody is ever the only one.

daniskarma@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 07 May 09:58 next collapse

I liked vice city and San Andreas.

Since IV they have been striping features from the games (also IV had huge performance issues). And V is completely bland to me. I didn’t enjoy it. And I don’t expect much from VI. I expect the same shallowness as V with a different background.

If I’m wrong good from everyone. But I won’t get disappointed if it’s as boring a V.

SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 08 May 07:31 collapse

Same. But I WILL be disappointed. I like the series too much, despite it being shit for so long. I want to play good games, and I know what Rockstar is really capable of. So if another big release by a core gaming studio comes out and it’s trash, that’ll suck.

dependencyinjection@discuss.tchncs.de on 07 May 10:30 next collapse

Why are you here then?

Like I see posts about Anime all the time and that isn’t my thing, so you know what I do… I just pass on by and let people enjoy what they enjoy without trying to come off as superior or enlightened.

GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 07 May 12:26 collapse

But, how else are you supposed to know that THEY’RE enlightened and superior, if they don’t loudly proclaim it at every given opportunity? Hmmmm?!

SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 08 May 07:27 collapse

I’m sorry, but gta FIVE was bland as fuck. Gta3 was groundbreaking for the time because it was 3d, gtavc was actually incredible, but now looks like hot dogshit (sounds great though, and that va cast was insanely talented and well cast and written, chefs kiss), and gtasa while a great game and expansion on basically everything, was the beginning of it getting bland and formulaic.

And gta5 was like… The right direction after gta4, but felt really half assed.

That being said, I love this franchise and want it to do better. I just know that they likely won’t.

So don’t hate it, just criticize it for what’s really wrong with it. As a person who’s played since gta2, it’s immensely frustrating to see it degrade. Your complaints are valid.

GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 07 May 12:22 next collapse

Sex sells. For a given character, their specific character designs are basically the only reason to be there. It’s like a third of the reason why people play (second being the game is fun, first being the game is affordable)

You might not like it. You might gaslight yourself and others into believing it’s not true.

But it is

Look at Concord

Look at Marvel rivals

SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 08 May 07:38 next collapse

Watched without sound.

It looks… Alright, I guess. Very photo real. Not super colorful. Kind’ve looks like a modern crime drama, which gives me a bad taste and feels like it’s gonna be shitty. That one scene walking out of the convince store with the beer, though, was super trashy and I could get behind that.

A thought I had while watching: gta:vc came out in 2002. It takes place in 1986. That means THAT level of nostalgia and romanticization of the period was only looking back 16 years.

16 years before 2026 would be 2010. They easily could have done another period piece with gta6 for vice City in the 90s, 00s, or 2010s. But I guess now that I think about it, things are more fucked up and insane now than they’ve been in a long time, so why not satirize what’s going on in the world today? It’s prime juicy bullshit, kind’ve like what gta3 did in 2001. So it’s fine I guess.

Maybe they’ll have good music and really good social commentary? I think then we’re entering a new era of GTA - where instead of satirizing and sensationalizing a vibe like a movie would, it’s just going to straight up do it to real life. GTA then has a lot of opportunity to reinvent itself, basically, as The Onion - The Game, based in Miami.

Will they? Likely no. It would take balls to make a game essentially shitting all over magas. Rockstar is going to have to pull off a hattrick in their writing and tone to pull this off, despite an open and for the taking goldmine that is reality, and they don’t have the cajones anymore.

I’ll see how the release does on pc and likely play it as long as they don’t monetize it past game price, and maybe future expansions. If there are periodical passes, this might be the first mainline title of theirs I’ll skip. The shark cards in gta5online, how grindy that was, the loading times, and hedging tone and neutured jokes in the single player, has them already at a very low karma standing for me. It also better release on steam.

This game will absolutely break records, regardless. This is just me from this trailer, without sound.

PmMeFrogMemes@lemmy.world on 08 May 10:48 next collapse

I think it’s interesting how much nostalgia there was for the 80s 20 years ago, compared to 00s nostalgia today. It feels like the cultural/aesthetic differences between the 80s and 00s are so much stronger than the 00s and today.

All that to say I kinda disagree on making GTA 6 a 2000s period piece
