Cool! I don’t do early access, but i’ll gladly pick this up when it’s done in two weeks!

Can definitely recommend!

I made the mistake of playing too much in early access and it was a lot of fun but I am worried it ruined the experience. Looking forward to trying a fresh playthrough!

And I make a point of avoiding early access (though I have been known to drift too far in the other direction and I play a lot of PICO-8 prototypes), so I’m looking forward to seeing this one with fresh eyes!

Had this experience with Dead Cells. Regretted it and haven’t touched games until they reached 1.0 since then.

I’ve been playing for a few hours every patch to see most of the new content and then left it be for a while. Makes the game a bit harder since there’s enough time between bouts to forget some stuff, but it’s been a casual enough pace to not really diminish my excitement for launch at all.

Oh wow, sooner than I thought!

Deltarune, Silksong, and now this?! These great games need to cool it for a bit, I don't have the time to play them all!

Omg… Finally!

TOO MUCH GAMES I REALLY AM EXCITED FOR!!!

But yeah. Hades 1 might actually be the best “full package” roguelite I have ever played. VERY solid gameplay and an unlock system that gets you your full arsenal within the first two hours but then encourages you to learn every single aspect of that as more and more options open up. And it is Supergiant so the story ranges from laughing at the horny to leaving you misty eyed to having a full blown weep-fest during credits as you try to comprehend what you just saw while immediately contextualizing it with your own Life. All done in a way that actually takes advantage of the game mechanics which is what makes Supergiant (and Greg Kasavin) so special.

I TECHNICALLY still have the final final ending to do with Hades 1. Should… probably do that some time. But what little I played of 2 so far is already so fricking good.

COE: 33, Silksong and now this? This is the year of the indie studios! LFGGGGG

taiyang@lemmy.world on 12 Sep 19:36 next collapse

So… Indie scene saw how shit 2025, so we got E33 and Silksong, we’re even getting Hades 2? What a year.

Ashtear@lemmy.zip on 12 Sep 21:35 next collapse

I’m beyond excited, this was the best early access experience I’ve ever had by a mile. It’s gotta be a GotY contender.

Hell of a year for indies/small publishers.

Xed@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 12 Sep 21:42 next collapse

a great year for indi gaming

Possibly the announcement from recent Direct that I’m most excited about, maybe it’s becasue of the proximity of release. I’ve been holding myself from playing early access for so long now… Hades 1 was such a comfort game to play on switch.

While some rougelites you can enjoy portably on ns/ns2 technically have more content, or rather are more varied in terms of gameplay (example Dead Cells with sheer number of possible weapon/build combinations), the progression itself being so tangled with story makes the expirience second to none.
