Personally, apparently 71% of my gaming time was spent on FFXIV. Although in my defense, most games Iāve played this year were on GOG or old free stuff from Epic I finally got around to.

My chart shows an emphasis on zombies and typing. I donāt know how to interpret that other than we need a new Typing of the Dead.
I did a pretty good job at keeping myself from buying games this year, but I also barely played š
Itās interesting that across the board, games released this year barely account for 9% of what people typically played.
Iām in that 9%. I played 40 different games. 21 of them were released in 2023. 83% of my total playtime was in games released this year. Most of that time was specifically in BG3.
A lot of people stick with ongoing/live service games as their main mode of play. FFXIV is the majority of my playtime, with Baldurās Gate 3 really being the only āthis yearā game Iāve played to a great extent.
Also plugging the Patient Gamers crowd that I find myself aligning more strongly with over time. Waiting to pick up games when they go on sale is not only easier on the wallet, but it is also a better experience overall with way too many developers these days releasing products on a āship now, fix laterā mindset.
Remember that a huge number of Steam accounts exclusively play Free to Play games and spend no money at all. 6 of the Top 10 Most Played on Steam right now are F2P games and only one is from this year.
Iāve got a 25 year backlog of games to play, no need to play any new ones for a while!
Only 8 games played this year, 3 new games bought. Grown up kinda sucks.
Youāve had the opportunity to play almost half of all the games youāve bought this year, with Christmas round the corner to add to that tally.
Thatās a pretty good record, all things considered!
Iāll be the guy who enjoyed this.
Beautiful hourglass pattern as I changed over from one time sink to another. Kinda neat.
It's nice i can see where my Pc broke and where i got my steamdeck also say i played 42 new game this year but i remember only 4 so i might want to get my memory check
Ooh, never knew this existed but jeez now I feel oldā¦
Black Mesa and Age of Empires 2 made up 75% of my gaming this year!
āThe classics never dieā was the message it gave me as well.
Me too. Itās such a nice way of saying āAwww, youāre oldā
Looking at my review weirdly gave me a more positive perspective on how I see my life. It helped me realize Iām kind of blessed with the work-life balance I have that Iām still able to play so many games into adulthood.
Also itās neat to see what I played early in the year. Things I couldāve sworn Iād played a couple years ago. A little reminder that time isnāt moving as quickly as it sometimes feels.
Yep, 77% spent on FFXIV. Fun times
Itās funny seeing how much of my gaming is the 30 minutes to an hour detoxing after work before going to other tasks. I rarely play a game for hours on end anymore.
Shout out to Hades and Inscryption (Kayceeās mod) for being less than an hour to beat a run. Perfect for a detox.
I mostly played free to play games and only got games that reviewed well. I learned my lesson during the pandemic releases. I canāt get into old games.
Pretty happy with my results here. More played than purchased, and lots of time with the ones I did.
56% of my gaming was just one game: Streets of rogue.
But youāre right thereās plenty of games I bought that I didnāt play very much. I hate it when I realize I donāt actually want a game but itās outside of the window to return it for a refund š
I played 68 games. Steam median is 8.
