Watch out for the Marvel trademark on the name, Disney has lawyers.

I am not the dev, just sharing.

IANAL, but IMO there is no confusion between an MMO guild management game and a marvel comic book concept. But then again, I would never trust an American court in such situations.

IANAL

You what ?

Agent_Karyo@lemmy.world on 20 Jul 11:36 next collapse

I Am Not A Lawyer, this is (used to be?) a pretty common internet acronym.

Still is. I’ve seen almost exactly this exchange on Lemmy at least three times.

Just found it funny

"I ANAL"

Another comment mentioned an equivalent, "TINLA" that might not cause a chuckle in some very mature people like me 😆😅

@StrixUralensis It's "I Am Not A Lawyer". It's usually used when giving advise and suggestions that borders on law, since many countries have provisions against giving law-related advises.

Another one is TINLA, short for "This Is Not Legal Advice".

Supporedly, saying either or both IANAL and TINLA prevents potential problems if what you said ended up damaging someone. I'm not sure, but I think those two are the only court recognized "disclaimers". 🤣

They butt.

MysticKetchup@lemmy.world on 20 Jul 16:24 collapse

Yeah it doesn’t even need to make it to the courts. Lawyers for big companies will still throw their weight around and tiny indies don’t have the resources to even contest frivolous lawsuits

Having managed a reasonably large MMO guild for several years, this game sounds about as appealing as getting an eye gouged out.

Depends on balancing, I like the idea of managing adventurers, sending them out on missions, always wanted a guild based colony sim type game
