This article discusses how Mouthwashing was allegedly deindexed on Itch, implying that it was due to censorship, but that is not the case.

The response from Itch on the matter:

Archive that proves the game wasn’t indexed since 2024

I sincerely apologize for unintentionally helping to spread misinformation. May this post serve as a warning that Mouthwashing was not censored and that we must remain cautious about what we see on social media.

(i feel so stupid, now i hate Gamespot)

As mentioned in the itch reply, this has nothing to do with recent events. It was delisted for a while. This is clickbait.

Archive link from November showing that it wasn't appearing in search: https://web.archive.org/web/20241107033706/https://itch.io/search?q=mouthwashing

It's gamestop's fault for terrible journalism, not you. Thanks for updating the post

Yeah, they link to other stores without offering a native purchase or download, they don’t get indexed. Not a new rule, and a rather sensible one. The product page is still available via linking.
