Recently bought and played Minecraft. What I enjoy is playing singleplayer while also doing roleplay in my head and making up story and conversation between me and villagers.

doing roleplay in my head and making up story

I used to love doing that. With the tech mods, I always RP’d I was sent ahead of a colony ship to get production and residence setup and ready.

RoboCop on PS5.

My wife and I have been playing Vintage Story. We’re really enjoying it. It’s a block survival game ala Minecraft but it’s much nicer to look at and the mechanics are way more in depth.

We’re in our first winter currently and doing things around the house we built at the start of the cold season (so we can stay close to somewhere warm). We’ve just made our first windmill and are building a chicken coop and making our farm look nicer with fences and paths. I’ve just started tanning to make leather using barrels full of borax and tannins (which you get by soaking oak logs in water for a day or so).

It’s also highly customisable with the world gen/ server settings and mods. For example we’ve moved our default spawn to our base and have a mod that sets spawn at beds for when we are off exploring.

It’s in early access but there’s definitely enough game to justify the cost at present.

I love vintage story with a few mods.

Any recommendations on the mods? There are loads!

Pseudoregalia. I wish there were more boss fights because I thought they were well done, but still a great experience overall.

Elden Ring, just a new run because it’s been a while.

I’ve been playing the Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition.

I played the original back on Wii U, and I was so sad when they shut the servers down.

They added another chapter in 3 parts that really points to a sequel in the works. They also added 3 new playable characters that were just NPCs in the original game, and the Hreisvelg series of skells that only appeared in 1 mission in the original version.

If you are a fan of Mobile Suit Gundam, this game is for you. The skells were made by the creator of Gunadam.

Oblivion remastered on steam deck has been a lot of nostalgic fun for me.

After La Mulana I wanted to try more Metroidvanias, so I tried Castlevania: Symphony of the Night but found it incredibly dull and dropped it after a couple of hours.

I understand the historical significance of its level design, but the combat was so easy that traversal became boring, as enemies respawn every time you change rooms. Also, the sprites are beautiful and detailed, and the game looks great, but Alucard’s movement feels off due to the animation.

I then switched to Touhou Luna Nights, which was really short but fun. The time stop gimmick was fun to use and I liked the bosses. The metroidvania aspect was a bit shallow, probably due to the length of the game, as it’s mainly used for optional powerups.

I started playing Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin. It seems like a fun game, the writing seems really cheesy (but enjoyable) and the combat is fun. A big problem tho is a bug that keeps triggering a slowdown at random times, which is really annoying and got me killed in a bunch of encounters.

Finally, I wanted to play Infinity Nikki, but I kinda lost interest with how the developer has been behaving lately. Can never trust gacha games.

My brother got my wife and me some miyoo minis, and I’m almost through TLoZ: Minish Cap. He loaded the tiny best set so I have too many choices and haven’t picked what I’m playing next

I was going to try and do some hunting for potential RPG Maker gems, but then I searched the tag on Itch 😅 I’ll probably stick to the Multiverse mod for FTL

Started Diablo 4 Season 8, and I can't say that I'm really into it this round. I have a laundry list of complaints, but it all really comes down to not feeling near as fun as previous seasons, and the world feels weirdly tighter than it has before? And I'm not sure exactly why.

Since I'm done with South of Midnight and it kept reminding me of Alice, I've been replaying Alice: Madness Returns. I both forgot how fun this game is and how horrible I am at jumping lol.

I’m obsessed with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I thought I wouldn’t be able to handle the complexity and dodge mechanics. But story mode goes brrrrrr. Thanks to Jennifer English, lead actress, who asked them to make an easy difficulty so that she could play it as well.

And I might even put the difficulty up a notch.

Blue prince, Bauldars Gate 3, little assasins creed 1 on the deck. Finished Dave the diver last week, it was great!

Just got a legit copy of Dungeon Clawler and installed it on my deck and it’s definitely harder than the old version on my laptop. Also, I save scummed the heck out of Dokopon Kingdom on Dolphin over the weekend, until the point the CPU turned evil and finally caught up to me and caused my first death.

I have also been enjoying Sonic Lost Worlds on 3DS (first playthrough), while also having tried a couple levels on PC and I don’t know whether it’s my PC or what, but it’s pretty much the only game I could recommend the console version over the PC version despite absolutely HATING the special stages because of how trash the motion controls and movements are in my opinion.

I’m 90 hours into Octopath Traveler II. I’ve been playing it for the last 5 months and honestly it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long. Thoroughly enjoying it and am on the last portion of the game.

I’m considering COE33 or FF7 Rebirth next.
