If you want to play Cyberpunk (either the game or the TTRPG) or Shadowrun with real cyberpunk music, this is your playlist. (open.spotify.com)

This is Darkwave, electronic genre inspired by 80s goth. IMO essential Cyberpunk, but CD Projekt RED went for another direction for the game’s OST

Speaking of music, has anyone found anything that resembles a mix of jazz, techno, and punk? Hell of a mix, but I kinda wanted something cool for a campaign I’ll run in a custom setting, in New Orleans. At this point, even something with an energy similar to Samurai or Atari Teenage Riot but jazzy would be cool as a “soundtrack”.

I believe what you’re looking for, my friend, is something called jazzcore.

I'll also add Naked City and a lot of other stuff John Zorn is involved in.

Thanks! Skeleton Quarter and Jü sound like what I’m after. Hopefully it won’t be too dissonant for my table.

I dunno if this is what you’re looking for, but clowncore may be close?

ETA: Totally forgot about Jojo Mayer & Nerve, too. Might be a little more sane of a choice depending on who your players are, lmao

Both of these recs are honestly great, Jojo Mayer in particular would be great as a theme if I slow it down some. Thanks!

Awesome! Definitely check out all of Nerve’s stuff. They got a pretty big back catalogue, and the energy varies.

Oooh, sweet! I can’t listen to it right now, but I’m commenting so I hopefully remember to when I can. Your description makes it sound like it’s right up my alley! I’m looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing it with us here! :)
