The implications for complexity-management and user-experience were somewhat less of a focus. As you might expect, putting 75% of the 3.5MB JS payload (15MB unzipped) in the critical path does unpleasant things to the user experience, but none of the dizzying array of tools involved in constructing bk.com steered this team away from user experience failure.
