gentoo was the arch distro before “i use arch btw” became a thing. lol
24+ hours to compile Mozilla suite on an 800mhz PowerPC g3 with 256mb memory. Good times
i tried putting gentoo on my 233mhz powerpc g3 with 32mg of ram and it took 3 days to compile the kernel and x-windows; the imac got so hot that the it messed up the plastic cd tray such that you had to pry it open from then on. lol

Respectfully, Cononical helped promote Linux a lot. Sure, it’s a company, but I can say without Ubuntu, I wouldn’t even be using Linux and I know other like me.
Same here. Started with Feisty Fawn in 2007. Had so much fun with compiz lol.
Finally made the switch over to Linux yesterday, kind of cool it was on the anniversary!
It’s…uhh…shrödingerhill from here, depending kn what you want to do. You can do anything, with varying levels of diffuculty.
