I use a small notebook so it comes in handy to double the title bar to have space to increase the title font to 16 or 18

On debian 12.11 this was the case, but I don’t remember how I configured it or what style I used. The style I now use on debian 13 is adwaita

Settings->Accessibility->Large Text ON

It will increase all text size including title bar text.

I’m on xfce and didn’t find that option. All I see is assistive technologies, keyboard and mouse. Is that for gnome?

if its kde you can just right click on the taskbar, edit and then type in the desired width.

What desktop environment are you using?

What the hell are you talking about?

Do you mean with “appearance style” the desktop environment? Or the theme of a specific DE?

Which DE are you using? At least for XFCE, there’s HDPI and XHDPI themes you can choose in the Window Manager settings.

arsus5478@lemmy.ml on 23 Aug 06:12 collapse

xfce, and thanks! it worked!

Good! I just remembered that from the days I used to use Debian on a Microsoft Surface.

Adwata so I’m assuming gnome I tend to use the open bar extension for customisation

arsus5478@lemmy.ml on 23 Aug 06:12 collapse

I don’t get it then. I installed debian 13 with xfce and now I’m using gnome??

No you ommited any kind of detail in your original post so we all had to guess to try and help. You’re still using xfce if that’s what you chose on installation. Pro tip install fastfetch open a terminal and write fastfetch and post the results under your future posts it’ll give us a report of your system.
