TLDR: SerpentOS rebranded

How does it compare to NixOS?

Quackdoc@lemmy.world on 31 Mar 00:02 collapse

way more simple to use and maintain for users. aerynos behaves almost exactly like a traditional distro with the exception of the /usr stuff

I’m wondering since they mention “it’s not a Linux distro” if they will expand these tools to other kernels like RedoxOS ?

Cool, but… why not just NixOS?

ReakDuck@lemmy.ml on 30 Mar 13:42 next collapse

Why not Slackware?

aerynos is pretty much just another distro as far as the user is concerned. extremely user/normie friendly unlike nix, and unlike fedora silverblue it doesn’t have a bunch of dumb limitations like forcing the user to use containers.
