What is an unofficial ChatGPT API supposed to be? One where you dont have to pay? I‘d hazard a guess that if that exists, it would just be a wrapper around someone elses API token, for which they are paying. Questions is whether they know about that usage…
I pay for chatgpt plus.
but I want to use it in vscode - which is not officially supported.
is there some hack/crack extension to piggy back on chatgpt plus subscription and use it like copilot in vscode?
🙄 you might want to do some reading.
Any OpenAI compatible API I’d assume. OpenRouter and Poe are legal, sanctioned examples.
Edit: Reading over the OP’s other comments better, it’s apparent this ain’t what they’re asking for, and instead they’re looking for… Weird, hacky shit.
I have chatgpt subscription.
Yes I can create openai token - but it’s going to incure additional and significant costs.
I was hoping to just use chatgpt plus subscription in vs code and not signup for separate product.
what’s weird about it?

those all require official key.
I want something that uses chatgpt plus in vscode.
But you said you have a subscription? The first one just requires your browser session token
