And despite still having the console here with me I will still emulate it!

TheImpressiveX@lemmy.ml on 03 Oct 14:58 collapse

You monster.

Think of all the shareholders that won’t be getting a slightly bigger return on their investment because you didn’t buy two consoles!

style99@lemm.ee on 03 Oct 14:49 next collapse

If Nintendo actually gave a shit about their customers, they’d release all their games on GOG. Don’t hold your breath waiting for that to happen.

just_another_person@lemmy.world on 03 Oct 14:53 collapse

Well Nintendo only makes money at this point on Nintendo developed properties, so if you mean Mario, then maybe. At the very least, they’d release a locked down emulation platform in an easily accessible format or something instead of needing to buy these mini consoles. A $20 retro controller and output cable for your phone to hook up to a TV or monitor would be a good start.

Chrono Trigger 2

Akira Toriyama is dead

Yeah, nah

lawrence@lemmy.world on 03 Oct 15:17 collapse

True, no one could replace the master. But in terms of art and style, Toriyama has already given his blessing to the artist Toyotarou.

There was a sequel to Chrono Trigger, and it released on the SNES.

…Sort of.

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world on 03 Oct 17:06 next collapse

The SNES wasn’t even the greatest console available at the time of its release.

Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world on 03 Oct 23:25 collapse

Depends on how you define greatest.

There were more powerful consoles, but there weren’t a lot of TurboGrafx (is that the right era?) customers, and there weren’t a lot of games coming out for it. The SNES had a constant stream of the best (and many of the worst) games in every genre

JIMMERZ@lemm.ee on 04 Oct 01:36 next collapse

SNES was my happy place when I was growing up. I would be beyond happy if it was supported again. I mean, it won’t be, but it’s nice to dream.

Deceptichum@quokk.au on 04 Oct 01:52 next collapse

Nintendo later sued the man for IP infringement with his dream.

missingno@fedia.io on 03 Oct 18:54 next collapse

They already made Chrono Trigger 2, but I won't blame you for forgetting it.

_NetNomad@fedia.io on 03 Oct 19:54 collapse

i'm confused, the first panel says Nintendo will be launching new games for the greatest console of all time but the second panel doesn't have a picture of the Tiger Electronics R-Zone? what gives?
