Capcom and Bandai Namco Collaborate on a New Retro Gaming Device

Gamestation Retro Pro is set to bring over 100 classic games from iconic publishers like Capcom and Bandai Namco onto one portable device. This handheld features an 8-inch high-resolution display, pre-loaded with hits such as Pac-Man, Pole Position, and Mega Man.

One unprecedented aspect of this collaboration is that it marks the first time both companies are comfortable allowing their games to be loaded together on a single unit. Traditionally, emulation-based systems see IP holders release different SKUs due to licensing restrictions.

Other devices in the Gamestation Retro Collection

With Q3 2025 availability, My Arcade aims to deliver an ‘officially licensed collection’ offering a seamless experience for retro gaming fans of Bandai Namco and Capcom games.

What classic titles from Capcom and Bandai Namco are you most looking forward to on these devices?

I was quite excited when I saw the first one of these pop up, but if every IP owner and their mum is going to release their own dedicated emulator (only capable of playing their pre-installed games, of course) then I fear you’re right.

Why not make a machine that can play your games and other games too? Maybe include a digital shop, maybe a desktop and the ability to run Windows and Linux binaries…

I mean, they cite another joint retro console from 2016, but along with Nintendo and HAL, NES mini had Konami, Capcom, Namco, Technos/Arc System Works, Koei Tecmo and Square Enix (and Taito which belongs to SE too).

We’re unlikely to see an official crossover like that ever, they’ve all switched to publishing lots of retro collections on their own.

That Handheld is just an artist rendition right? They can’t be seriously considering this slab of shit.

I was thinking the same thing. I mean, holy branding!

10.1"

That’s a full size iPad with a controller strapped on the sized.

That’s HUGE, and if they’re just playing classic games… why not just make a controller case for an iPad and sell the games in the apple store?
