Can never go wrong with summoningsalt. He’ll get you invested in things you never knew you had any interest in. If you want a good example of that check out his video on Wii Sports speed runs. If that sounds like something you aren’t interested in, give it 10 minutes and you’ll be in so deep you’ll start thinking about getting into speed running yourself.
I sorta had that same reaction, yeah. His Super Mario video was endlessly fascinating and then from time to time I would go to watch one of the others and they didn't seem all that different or exciting. Then yesterday I happened on this one, and for whatever reason, it absolutely hooked me.

Every time summoning salt drops a video I have to cancel all my plans immediately. 2 hours of Tetris? Hell yeah!
This is his best one yet. I wonder how he will top this?

I get that. But at the same time speed running is stale as a concept. I feel like it’s just the nature of the genre since there’s only so much you can talk about. I love speed running but I could never watch someone stream it for hours on end.
Edit: This was meant as a response to another comment but I goofed. I do love this video. Oops lol

I feel like it's like sports; if you do the game then it's interesting, but if you're just observing it as an observer, then it's sort of pointless.
I have observed live speedruns which are absolutely compelling though, too.

Am I the only one thinks his videos got stale after a while? Feels like the exact same video every single time but with different characters.

Feel like that’s the fun of Tetris since it’s not a speed run. Its an ever changing goal of high score, or levels, or glitches
Summoningsalt has amazing content. I barely game and definitely don’t speed run but I love his content.
