I did love my GBA but the OG version with no backlight was AWFUL. I modded mine to add one.

You can’t appreciate how good the games are with the crappy OG dark screen.

I had one of those fluorescent lights mounted in my bookshelf headboard in the GBA days… Was a godsend!

I remember being at a mom‘s friend‘s House. Her kids had GBA SPs. My brother and I only had regular GBAs (his was purple and mine was white) the kids always told us to “turn on the light” and somehow didn’t get it that we didn’t have any light.

Bro and I got one for Christmas and birthday. He got a red one and I got the golden minish cap one. I miss it.

Yep, I put an Afterburner mod in mine back in the day and got the best of both worlds: a screen you can see without standing outside at midday, and a comfortable, wide layout that doesn’t make your hands cramp up.
