Literally 1 paragraph article and a tweet. Journalism?

Kain1@lemmy.world on 05 Oct 21:01 next collapse

At least it’s on point. Unless you want the author to write what he ate for breakfast today.

They aren’t paid enough to care.

Give us the MGRR remaster you cowards

Protoknuckles@lemmy.world on 05 Oct 22:01 next collapse

Give us Twin Snakes!

I remember loving the idea of having the MGS2 mechanics, specifically first person aiming, but the limited buttons on the GameCube made using it super awkward lol

cfi@lemmy.world on 06 Oct 01:34 collapse

Also the first person view made a bunch of fights stupid easy

Kolanaki@yiffit.net on 06 Oct 02:01 collapse

Surely the fight against Liquid at the end would be harder in first person.

cfi@lemmy.world on 06 Oct 02:17 collapse

Oh its not locked to first person, you just have the option to look and shoot in first person, like in MGS2

Kolanaki@yiffit.net on 06 Oct 04:04 collapse

I am familiar; I just mean if you wanted to do a challenge run entirely in 1st person haha

Can we discuss actual retro gaming instead of has-been publishers selling their old games back to you again for easy profit?

MonkeMischief@lemmy.today on 05 Oct 23:22 collapse

I’m so tired of being relentlessly and aggressively marketed to because

“You enjoyed this thing we did 20+ years ago that was unique back then, but we’re scared of risks now so we want you to buy that thing again please. Remember how much you liked it? Also we want to sue people for enjoying the original if we can.”

…so tired.

Kind of surprising that it hasn’t happened yet, honestly. I feel like this is one of the few remaining big PS1/2 titles that hasn’t gotten a remake. Do Syphon Filter next!

taiyang@lemmy.world on 06 Oct 01:11 next collapse

Actually, hijacking comments for a question; I’m thinking of playing MGS all the way through for the that time. Should I do PC version of PSX or emulated GameCube twin snakes version (or emulated PSX?).

RetroAchievements recently released an achievement set for the GameCube version, so all three check the metagaming box for me. Is Twin Snakes the best or is it lacking anything major?

Bartsbigbugbag@lemmy.ml on 06 Oct 03:35 next collapse

I prefer og psx, personally. I’ve never played the PC version though.

altima_neo@lemmy.zip on 06 Oct 08:51 collapse

If you want the retro challenge, play the PlayStation version. If you want an easier time, crazier characters, and just enjoy the game, play twin snakes. It plays a lot more like MGS 2.

heavy@sh.itjust.works on 06 Oct 01:54 next collapse

Just port the twin snakes to something other than the GameCube and call it a day.

altima_neo@lemmy.zip on 06 Oct 08:49 collapse

I don’t think they can because Nintendo published that one.

Dagnet@lemmy.world on 06 Oct 02:09 next collapse

Wow, people here forgot the most important part!

Fuck Konami

JayleneSlide@lemmy.world on 07 Oct 06:13 collapse

Fuck Konami

Sincere question: what did Konami do?

babe wake up! it’s time for your 4pm mgs1 remake
