Ohno… Rayman is retro now 👴🏻

I hate to tell you this, but Rayman has been retro for a long time. His first game came out on the PS1, and then six years later on the Game Boy Advance.

I’m aware of that, it actually was originally planned for SNES, but got cancelled. This board game, however, is clearly based on newer Rayman Origins/Legends release, which I thought to be modern-ish. Until I checked the release date and saw it’s 12+ years old now. So even the most recent Rayman game is retro💀

Does “retro” have an official definition? Because I have hard time believing that that any game launched this millennium is retro.

It’s of course subjective, but usually applies to 15-20 years old things, depending on context. PS3 is now considered retro, for example.

*Atari Jaguar :P

I think he might have been the only good thing to come out of the Jag lol

Yes, it also released for the Atari Jaguar and Sega Saturn at the same time as the PS1, but those systems sold considerably fewer units than the PS1.

Rayman and Cosmere board game kickstarters in the same week? This’ll be tough on my wallet

Rayman? Owned by Ubi right? Why does it need kick-starting?
