Does anyone know of a Linux-based or playable via emulator/wine of the NES Rygar?

I only ever played Rygar a little one summer but I remember it very fondly. I’d love to play it on my Linux laptop if possible. I saw on wiki there was an Android port at some point - I’d ideally like the NES incarnation.

No idea if rom links are allowed; however, very easy to find online if you search for the game name and rom.
Emulator wise, www.retroarch.com is very good, and cross platform. I think save states are compatible across platforms wherever retroarch is supported
Very cool, thanks!!
Any NES that runs on Linux works. I play this game every so often, actually. Just install Retroarch to make it easy.
Yeah looks to be the ideal way. I have numerous laptops available I wanna make one my retro machine.
Lakka will make a dedicated RetroArch machine, if that’s your thing.
Edit: Updated link for Lakka x86.
FCEUX is good and simple to use.
Not my favorite emulator, but it does have the best hacking/debugging tools I’ve seen.
Rygar was weird as fuck. That guy running around cloud lands, throwing out a spiderweb looking bonker thing. I never understood what I was doing on that game.
I never progressed far enough to make it to the cloud city my understanding was you needed to play some flute or something? This was so long ago.
As a kid playing that on the NES, I recall getting frustrated and hating the game, but then I played on an emulator years later and enjoyed it.
Well I’m gonna get it running at some point when I have the time because I think I’d get a kick outta it.
Shit, you got me feeling nostalgic now. I think I’ll need to play it again too.
Hah.

Install ares from flathub
Download nes ROM of Rygar

Sweet! TYVM Got a few responses everyone is so generous and helpful. I just haven’t gotten. Around to doing any of it yet lol.
I was always a fan of Mednaffe, a GUI frontend for Mednafen, for all of my NES, SNES, and GBA emulation needs. Of course, that’s all a bit moot now that I have a handheld.
