I love my PSP Go, such an awesome emulation machine

Is the wololo the same one as in age of empires?

whostosay@lemmy.world on 14 Feb 22:41 collapse

No, it means a murloc is behind you and it’s already too late

Ah the nostalgic days of obsessing over wololo to see if my firmware was finally going to be supported.

IIRC for the PSP there came a day where you could run code straight from the external storage card without needing anything else. Which led to bootable game ISOs from the vanilla UI.

I could be remembering things wrong as it has been over a decade.

With patched firmware, yes. And there was a program to convert any PS1 iso into a PSP loadable game as well.

I miss when most hardware was jailbreakable as easily as running a basic script. Nowadays it’s like you can maybe jailbreak your device if it’s running software version 3.04.05.6 EXACTLY and your device was manufactured inbetween the dates 2017-05-05 and 2017-05-07. It also needs to be a full moon and the third Tuesday of the month Otherwise, nope it’s completly locked down

That was early firmware 1.50. Just put homebrew on MemoryStick Duo and run it on stock firmware. Before Dark_AleX and the beginning of the cat-and-mouse game…

I actually run a hidden WPA1 SSID at home just so I can connect my PSP Fat to the net, so this is directly relevant to my interests.

Of course I need to upgrade my CFW. Still on M33 5.0. Then again I’ve been needing to do that for a while.
