Cool! on 04 Oct 2023 08:16 next collapse

Apparently it’s used for a video game adaptation of the “game of life” boardgame.

I wonder what kind of output the roulette is mapped to, and whether you could use it as some absurd control scheme for any game. on 04 Oct 2023 10:57 next collapse

First guess, probably just outputs as one of the analog sticks. Always outputting as though it’s pushed all the way to the edge and it rotates with the wheel. on 04 Oct 2023 11:30 collapse

The wheel might be passive and that little piece to the right might just be counting clicks. on 04 Oct 2023 17:02 collapse

Doubt it, you wouldn’t be able to know which color was where. Unless the player had to manually set it every time they started the game. on 04 Oct 2023 21:17 collapse

Good point, not sure. on 04 Oct 2023 16:24 collapse

I was just going to comment that the wheel was exactly like the Life board game, lol. on 04 Oct 2023 08:29 next collapse

Looking forward to the darksouls level 1 no hits run on this controller. on 04 Oct 2023 12:34 next collapse

I want to repurpose this as a miniature version of those DJ Hero controllers. on 04 Oct 2023 12:40 next collapse

I want to hook two of them up to Mixxx and play chiptune on 04 Oct 2023 12:57 collapse

I want to play Arkanoid using it. on 07 Oct 2023 06:19 collapse

That is a really neat idea. I initially thought it was some form of rhythm game controller, when I first glanced at the photo of it. on 04 Oct 2023 22:49 collapse

I have watched so many retro gaming shows on TV, YouTube, etc and never knew or heard about this. The amount of odd controllers released in Japan must be endless.

Definitely interesting to know about.
