Just to show I play Nintendo as well.

is it just stretched to fit 16:9? that’s not going to look great on 19 Jan 2024 20:04 next collapse

Ocarina of Time never natively supported any aspect ratio other than 4:3, so it will certainly be stretched. Unless OP plays on an emulator or the native PC port, which can both support 16:9. on 19 Jan 2024 20:09 collapse

Chances are there’s a setting for stretch/fit in the TV on 19 Jan 2024 20:21 collapse

Yes, all TVs these days do have a picture setting for aspect ratio correction. But the TV in this picture does not have that setting enabled, and therefore the picture is distorted. on 20 Jan 2024 02:52 collapse

so it will certainly be stretched. Unless OP plays on an emulator or the native PC port, which can both support 16:9.

Which kinda contradicts this part on 20 Jan 2024 04:05 collapse

This was assuming the OP does not change their TV settings. on 20 Jan 2024 01:55 collapse

There it is

I saw this in my feed and asked myself what post number is going to be the “retro on 16:9 REEEEEEEEE”, you’re post #9 sorted by Hot on 20 Jan 2024 02:04 collapse

glad i could make your day, sorry it didn’t include a derogatory autistic screech to better fit your prediction on 19 Jan 2024 19:45 next collapse

I have a similar setup, but I need to invest in a wireless N64 controller. I kind of like this style:…/B08TDZS8K5 on 19 Jan 2024 20:08 next collapse

Good job, KYLE on 19 Jan 2024 20:27 next collapse

So far, I rescued Princess Ruto, lifted the Master Sword and let Ganandorf gain his power, and now I’m an adult where Sheik is my companion.

EDIT: And I started inside Jabu-Jabu earlier. on 19 Jan 2024 23:59 next collapse

Spoiler alert, geez! on 20 Jan 2024 15:16 collapse

Sorry about that. :( on 20 Jan 2024 00:57 next collapse

I read that as Shrek. on 20 Jan 2024 01:59 collapse

How did you get the master sword without finishing Jabu Jabu? Normally you would need all three spiritual stones to get inside the temple of time where the master sword is. on 20 Jan 2024 05:48 collapse

They also rescued Ruto, so must have finished Jabu Jabu on that basis too on 20 Jan 2024 15:17 next collapse

I’m a ‘he’. on 20 Jan 2024 16:16 collapse

His file select would show the spiritual stone of water if he finished Jabu Jabu. It only shows 2/3 spiritual stones. Hence my confusion. on 19 Jan 2024 21:37 next collapse

One of the best games ever. Try completing it with only 3 hearts and no deaths ;) Back in the day you could get your name published in Nintendo Power for accomplishing that feat. on 19 Jan 2024 21:45 next collapse

I don’t know why but I always get stuck around the spirit temple and have to look up wtf to do. This has happened every playthrough and you’d think I’d remember it. Good luck! on 19 Jan 2024 22:01 next collapse

The N64 was the only Nintendo console I skipped. I just couldn’t afford two consoles and the PlayStation was obviously a better choice, but I still kinda wish I had gotten to experience Ocarina and Majora’s Mask when they were brand new and not years later on the GameCube. I played at my friend’s houses, but just hated that controller. The Wavebird made it a bit more palatable, but it was still just too “avante garde” for its own good. Feels like I needed yo shove a mop handle in the expansion port and use it as a trident. on 19 Jan 2024 22:24 next collapse

I fired up my copy of Ocarina a couple months ago. To my surprise, all 3 save files were intact and not corrupted! Could not believe it. on 20 Jan 2024 00:50 next collapse

In my top 3 games of all time. An absolute masterpiece on 20 Jan 2024 03:28 next collapse

Best game ever made. Best controllers ever made. I’d love them to release a modern N64 controller! on 20 Jan 2024 06:42 collapse

They did, for Switch’s subscription service. Not sure if they work on PCs though. on 20 Jan 2024 14:28 collapse

Steam supports some of the subscription ones, probably this one too.
