But there are only 2 genders, no in-between

nature is not perfect, and yes, only to genders.

henfredemars@infosec.pub on 23 Mar 23:43 next collapse

Why is nature not perfect to genders?

lunarul@lemmy.world on 24 Mar 00:33 collapse

Because it came up with transphobia

Typhoonigator@lemmy.world on 24 Mar 02:50 next collapse

You should introduce the second half of your sentence to its first half

marsNemophilist@lemmy.wtf on 24 Mar 06:23 collapse

You still find the use of commas a bit confusing, don’t you?

Typhoonigator@lemmy.world on 24 Mar 13:32 next collapse

Not as confusing as you seem to find words, generally

RandomVideos@programming.dev on 24 Mar 17:38 collapse

Where would you even add a comma without making the sentence grammatically incorrect and hard to read?

Muaddib@sopuli.xyz on 24 Mar 06:35 next collapse

Nature isn’t perfect to lots of stuff. Genders aren’t the only thing nature isn’t perfect to.

tacofox@lemm.ee on 24 Mar 07:19 next collapse

The wrong use of to/two perfectly encapsulates the whole anti-trans population perfectly.

RandomVideos@programming.dev on 24 Mar 17:41 next collapse

How would you define gender?

…and you have 0 posts on your account.

There is a shortage of posts on lemmy compared to active users. So no use outproportionally criticising someone who is posting a post based on something like image quality of a reposted meme lol. That’ll just make people who bring content to lemmy less likely to continue.

Obviously it’s okay to criticise bad posts, but I think in thise case the criticism was more just insults. (and especially in a meme community, like dude we don’t expect 4k image memes).

gofsckyourself@lemmy.world on 24 Mar 19:21 collapse

Psythik@lemm.ee on 24 Mar 22:57 collapse

The shade absolutely was necessary. This isn’t reddit; have some standards.

mexicancartel@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 24 Mar 18:32 next collapse

The one tagged “female” was just a bottom view and they both look similiar? Is that the joke?

JustAnotherKay@lemmy.world on 24 Mar 18:55 collapse

No there’s no joke. It’s the same beetle, top and bottom. Split down the middle to be genetically male and female

mexicancartel@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 24 Mar 19:19 collapse

Ohh ohh damn lol. Posting two pictures was extremely confusing given “left” and “right”

Cethin@lemmy.zip on 25 Mar 00:53 collapse

It’s so you can see the top and bottom. It seems pretty obvious it’s left-right that has the differences. Just look at the mandibles!

mexicancartel@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 25 Mar 05:20 collapse

I’m no beetle expert. I thought it’s a weird beetle that has asymmeyric pair of scissors, and male and female had left/right handedness

Psythik@lemm.ee on 24 Mar 22:58 next collapse

To be fair, your images are full of jpeg artifacts. But at least they’re higher res.

gofsckyourself@lemmy.world on 24 Mar 23:19 collapse

That’s why I didn’t say anything about jpeg artifacts. Just low quality.

raldone01@lemmy.world on 25 Mar 01:31 collapse

Reminds me of something I drew a while back.

I screwed up the equal length of the mandibles from the reference image. They look very similar to this bettle though. The body texture and shape is not quite right though.

So toilets are usually female - male but beetles are male - female to make circle - female symbol on toilet. Noted, from now on when I spot beetle I will compare it with toilet to figure out if it’s male or female.
