Could do without my country’s flag fucking up this science moment. Great share anyways, thanks!

No. America has its issues of course, but Curiosity and in a wider sense NASA is an entirely good thing that America does.

Just because we have work to do in other areas doesn’t mean we can’t be proud of the good we are doing.

It never stops being so fucking cringe that Americans just can’t stop putting their flag on every square inch of everywhere. Its always been cringe but it’s even worse now.

I used to live there. Most houses have a flag in the front of the house near the front door. They make you stand with your hand over your heart and chant your fealty to the flag. They make you sing songs about the flag in music class as a kid. Bangers like “Grand Old Flag”.

Yeah and if someone doesn’t swear fealty to the flag we hunt them down and drink their blood. AMERICA

You joke but kids would be carted off to the principals office if they sat down or didn’t have their hands over their hearts, or if they were goofing off during “the pledge”.

I agree, doesn’t just stop at American flags either, any overly patriotic display is cringe

Imagine, after years of developing just one subsystem of this spacecraft, you probably get emotionally very attached. It is like watching the heart beat again of someone you love. Such a wholesome photo.

Are those event buttondowns or does NASA have a burgundy uniform?
