The goal of Fireshare is to provide a very simple and easy way for you to share any videos you have through a unique link.

This looks great, I’ve been looking for a self-hostable replacement ever since gfycat was shut down. Gonna give it a shot.
Neat! So its my own “streamable” type website. I’m gonna give this a try. I am confused do I have to give people “access” to view clips do they have to make an account or does the link suffice it’s unclear.
Been using this for half a year or so, there’s basically just an admin account, which is the only one that can see private uploads. Everybody else can view and upload public videos without logging in. But sharing links to privated videos works as well.
Ok thanks
Can you lock it so only you can upload?
It sounds like a useful way to share stuff with friends, but not if any random person can upload stuff.
Sorry for the late response, but yes, I believe you can. There is an option in the config called
allow_public_upload
which can be changed to true or false.Does it transcode the uploads for better remote viewing like Peertube does? I can’t tell from the github page. This looks a lot simpler to run than peertube since all I really do is share clips with friends.
I don’t think sharing 100Mbps+ 3440x1440 files from shadowplay is going to go well when sharing to friends that have more limited internet speeds.
