Do you know how much of a scumbag you have to be to attack a hospital.

Why isn’t a system in a hospital air-gapped? Or is there any reason why it must be connected that I don’t know?

The problem is, the growth of hospital systems has been organic and what it needs is to be ripped out and replaced with something designed for modern times.

Also hospitals in general are loath to replace any digital system that still works. That’s time that their already overworked personnel have to dedicate to learning new systems, potential new bugs and quirks that might have actual severe consequences for patients, etc.

In our case , BC Canada, our health authority is a network across the lower mainland. If I get a scan in one city my doctor can pull it up in another, so both ends of that are connecting to the internet

It’s good to hear that soon the NHS will be capable of launching cyber attacks again.

They’re quite proud of their actions rather, I imagine. And I do not doubt they proudly make it a matter of morality in some or another way.

Bolster the defenses, make it harder for the malicious.
