Did I understand right that you are forced to side load an APK and create an account to use the camera paid with real money?
Yes. Insta360 is the same and new gopros might lean in that direction as well.
At least some users defending that practice claim this is to get a proper start date for the warranty period. Even if that is true it is really shitty.
