Sebastian Steck, a software developer based in Germany, has obtained the source code and library installation scripts for his AVM FRITZ!Box 4020 router, thanks to a lawsuit funded by the Software Freedom Conservancy (SFC).

So basically their software is real open-source now and we can just compile stuff for their devices, without flashing OpenWrt etc? Can those be bought outside of Germany? I’ve never heard of it
Is it only for this specific model? Where can O find the source code?
