I dont care about centralised social media bluesky, why is every second post in lemmy about bluesky!?

Blxter@lemmy.zip on 17 Nov 21:02 next collapse

Not gonna lie I’m blocking this poster they seem to make alot of them I’m sick of it lol

th3dogcow@lemmy.world on 17 Nov 22:20 collapse

Thanks for pointing that out. I just blocked them too. Phew!

psychothumbs@lemmy.world on 17 Nov 21:41 collapse

I think there’s a lot of overlap between people interested in a reddit alternative and a twitter alternative. Or maybe as that guy below says it’s just that I’m personally posting about it a lot.

oxjox@lemmy.ml on 17 Nov 21:59 next collapse

No. It’s because it’s you. Blocked.

Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world on 17 Nov 22:22 next collapse

We have a Twitter alternative already. And it’s not going to be enshittified now or in the future.

toothbrush@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 17 Nov 22:28 collapse

But why not about mastodon? We are on the Fediverse here! And you really have posted a lot of articles that are basically just advertisements for bluesky.

oxjox@lemmy.ml on 17 Nov 21:59 next collapse

OP is really shilling for Bluesky.

Ganbat@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 17 Nov 22:41 next collapse

Everybody talks about “why not Mastodon” in the comments of these. I thought about that for a long while back when I used Mastodon, and I have an answer: discoverability. ActivityPub does not make things easy to find, which makes a Twitter-like service even more like screaming into the void. It effectively becomes “bring your own audience,” and tends to only amplify the voices that are already the loudest, though as a consequence of the backend, rather than a malicious choice like Twitter.

psychothumbs@lemmy.world on 17 Nov 23:02 collapse

Yeah I think that’s exactly it

KLISHDFSDF@lemmy.ml on 17 Nov 23:57 next collapse

OP has posted (and re-posted) about Bluesky about 40 times in the last 48 hours. I’m down voting every single one. Quit shilling for billionaires.

psychothumbs@lemmy.world on 18 Nov 01:17 collapse

What billionaire?

They’ve invested millions and they wouldn’t unless they expected a significant return. The only way to get a return on a social media investment is either ads or subscriptions via enshittifying it just enough to get people to pay. bluesky is destined to be trash.

chloroken@lemmy.ml on 19 Nov 12:27 collapse

You were asked a direct and simple question.

KLISHDFSDF@lemmy.ml on 19 Nov 19:20 collapse

And I answered it? There are multiple wealthy people involved. Do you expect the full name, address, and social security number of every individual? I don’t care to do all that research for you. My point still stands, Bluesky’s devs are in debt (via investments) to wealthy people who will want to extract value (money) from it. Enshittification is inevitable.

chloroken@lemmy.ml on 20 Nov 00:07 collapse

What billionaire? You made the claim. It seems trivial to produce a name, yeah?

This is what it looks like when a stubborn person makes a small mistake and would rather torpedo the whole argument than make a concession. It’s so common and so disappointing.

kokesh@lemmy.world on 18 Nov 08:16 next collapse

Psycho can’t keep his/her thumbs away from the post button. So let’s have a poll: strawpoll.com/7rnzV89aDnO

realitista@lemm.ee on 18 Nov 13:28 collapse

I need the same but for Mastodon, does anyone know of anything that’s still working?
