Are we really just accelerating to full on dystopia at this point?

Quill7513@slrpnk.net on 14 Jan 21:13 next collapse

we’ve been living in 1984 since 2002

rigatti@lemmy.world on 14 Jan 23:55 collapse

Why 2002 specifically?

Ah, gotcha.

Didn’t you as a country sacrifice thousands of children just so you could keep your guns for this exact moment?

cyborganism@lemmy.ca on 14 Jan 21:36 next collapse

RIGHT???

peregrin5@lemm.ee on 15 Jan 15:28 collapse

Unfortunately the ones that kept their guns are more likely to form the private armies of billionaires and after work be part of their personal fellatio-slave harem than fight for the rights of their fellow humans.

…you’re joking, right? Electing the convicted rapist, convicted fraudster, racist, sexist, wannabe dictator that literally tried to lead a coup four years ago didn’t tip you off?

There goes all of what remains of their integrity.

It just proves further and further that AI by itself is not a bad thing. It's the intent that man pours into it, that makes it a bad thing.

Whatever man touches, turns to rigor mortis.

It was stupid to have that in there in the first place given that an absence of politics/political bias is impossible.

Just for one thing: the politics of the LLM’s training data will be reflected in the output. And the vast majority of the English-language corpus available will reflect Western, imperial core liberal politics. They’re pro-capitalist, pro-imperialist, anti-socialist, Western chauvinist politics.

Oh, I’m sure that isn’t going to be a problem for their goals. They can always overrepresent training data from 2016-2020 and 2024-2028 to add some balance to the model’s political compass. /s

There’s no such thing as politically unbiased AI. Apolitical AI was always a pie in the sky.
