This is the best summary I could come up with:

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec 1 (Reuters) - Tesla’s (TSLA.O) pricier-than-expected Cybertruck pickup, which offers driving ranges that fell well short of what CEO Elon Musk had promised, has deeply disappointed some but fascinated others with its futuristic, SUV-like feel.

The Cybertruck, two years behind schedule, enters a hot pickup truck market to compete with the likes of Ford’s (F.N) F150 Lightning, Rivian Automotive’s (RIVN.O) R1T and General Motors’ (GM.N) Hummer EV.

Among those disappointed is Texas-based financial services executive Christian Cook, who had booked a Cybertruck in 2019 after Musk promised a cheaper pickup that travels farther on a single charge.

“The truck pricing and range is a huge let down,” Cook, who drives a Model 3 and told Reuters he had made certain financial decisions based on his plans to buy a Cybertruck.

Musk’s personal ability to build the Tesla brand has also been questioned this week after a live interview in which he cursed out advertisers who left his X social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, over antisemitic material.

“Many of Tesla’s early adopters who bought into the dream of a sustainable future are being kind of rudely woken up,” by some of the “strange things” he has done, turning him from a “rebel” into a “misguided person” for some people, said JP Kuehlwein, an adjunct professor of marketing at Columbia University Business School.

I think I’m going to cancel my Cybertruck order. Seems like quality is going to be a big issue, too.

Couldn’t pay me for a v1 of this thing.

I have to ask, what about that thing is appealing to you? Genuinely curious.

I’ve wanted one too. For me it has a weird sorta retro scifi feel. Like, if a Dolorian was a truck. Mixed with a splash of Night Rider. Even some elements of Tron (the hard lines/angles).

I’d rather have a cross between the Delorean and an El Camino. The cybertruck is not the style of truck I’d want.

I agree. I would never want to own one, because I think it’s wildly impractical, but I think the style is somewhat charming.

Also, the concept of cyberpunk isn’t as appealing today as it was four years ago. In 2019 this seemed fun, but now that society actually feels shaky, the R1T presents a much more appealing concept to me. After the last few years, a bulletproof truck doesn’t seem like an escapist fantasy, an electric camper does.

Had to lookup the r1t. It’s not for me. I think this is a case of subjective taste. It’s not bad looking, but it’s too…soft to me. It’s the harder lines and the strange silhouette the CT has. Guess its why I’m also partial to older vehicles too, look wise.

Normally a company would get a boost after a major announcement, though, if it was successful.

Not only that, but it recovered most of it throughout the day.
