Well, we can’t have them investigating themselves now, can we?

SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml on 10 Apr 09:36 collapse

This action is BECAUSE they investigated themselves. Just plugging all the leaks now.

Tomorrow is a better day…for them.

CarbonatedPastaSauce@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 12:15 collapse

There are a lot of us working to make sure they don’t get better and better days. And the pressure is growing from all sides. They can’t operate with impunity forever, and they have awoken a sleeping giant with all these service cuts that their base actually depends on (even though they were too stupid to know it).

metaldream@sopuli.xyz on 10 Apr 09:35 next collapse

Wow, I’m so shocked that an administration of thieves and grifters are helping other thieves and grifters.

OriginalUsername7@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 10:02 next collapse

I’m more surprised they didn’t try to corner the thieving and grifting market for their own.

naeap@sopuli.xyz on 10 Apr 10:25 next collapse

They do

But as it needs to go into their private pocket, they manipulate the market and already spare regulations, so they have a free go and cash in

Wouldn’t help them, when the nation gets the many due to sane profit taxing and fraud investigations

ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 11:15 next collapse

Yet.

pdxfed@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 13:42 collapse

So you’re assuming that no one in Trump’s circle made any trades in advance of yesterday’s tariff pause cancellation? Do you know the exponential return you could get on a short-term option when the underlying investment moves 20% in a day?

CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 10 Apr 11:40 next collapse

To a certain extent, honor among thieves typically only exists within their own group.

The administration is setting things up so their grifters won’t get charged.

If someone grifted them, the FBI would absolutely investigate them.

Right?? My first thought was “well maybe I’ll do some crypto scamming then!” I’ve got mouths to feed, why not milk suckers for money if the Feds don’t care

CarbonatedPastaSauce@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 12:16 collapse

Because it’s wrong and evil to take advantage of other people?

vane@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 13:37 next collapse

Well in Bible it’s says. “Love your neighbor as yourself.” - I have nothing to eat and starve I share my love with them so they also don’t have anything to eat and starve. I see no evil here, just sharing same love.

at some point rule of law will break down completely

CarbonatedPastaSauce@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 12:13 collapse

We’ve got a ways to go yet but it’s certainly been set in motion.

The 5 million people protesting last week (including me) gives me hope. And I have had one friend tell me he wants to join me next time, and he’s the last person I would ever think would protest.

There’s momentum growing on the good side, too. Don’t give up hope yet.

Kyouki@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 12:34 next collapse

What’s a hypothetical situation you can describe that may occur? That stops or limits this

CarbonatedPastaSauce@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 12:55 collapse

Medicare/Medicaid/SS cuts will have people rioting. They are playing with fire there.

Aside from that type of drastic event, I see discontent growing daily. People are fed up with the general unease and sense of unfairness in our system. It takes time for that anger to build but you don’t get 5 million people in the streets in every single state in the country when everyone is just sitting around taking their crap. I am hopeful that this growing movement will begin direct action such as general strikes, but that’s a ways off. For now we just need to keep showing up, and show everyone else that there are a LOT of us and we are PISSED and we’re not taking this laying down.

Kyouki@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 13:00 collapse

How’s the public going to stop that though?

CarbonatedPastaSauce@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 13:02 collapse

You’ll have to be more specific. What’s “that” you are referring to?

Kyouki@lemmy.world on 11 Apr 06:33 collapse

Stop it from being passed, stop it from being cut, or etc. I’ve recently also learned a lot from Medicard by Johnny Haris’s youtube channel video about the subject and how its privatized a lot.

CarbonatedPastaSauce@lemmy.world on 11 Apr 10:08 collapse

Constant, unrelenting pressure via nonviolent protest is our best tool right now. If they fear they’ll lose the next election they will fall in line. We just need to put that fear in them.

reksas@sopuli.xyz on 10 Apr 14:14 collapse

there is no going back to the old because it was the old system that allowed this to happen. I hope you manage to take back your country and rebuild it, but first the rot has to be razed completely or same thing will happen again later even worse.

Asafum@feddit.nl on 10 Apr 11:55 next collapse

RowRowRowYourBot@sh.itjust.works on 10 Apr 13:13 next collapse

Should the DOJ get involved in your unregulated financial market? Is anyone buying crypto thinking they are getting a real financial product?

technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 10 Apr 15:43 collapse

What is a “real financial product”? smh.

RowRowRowYourBot@sh.itjust.works on 10 Apr 15:57 collapse

A real financial product would be something like a mutual fund. These things are regulated and are typically fairly transparent in terms of how they work.

db2@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 15:04 collapse

Bitcoin is basically the only one that isn’t totally fraudulent, though they’ve seemingly found ways to manipulate it.

Don’t associate it with fElon.

KingThrillgore@lemmy.ml on 10 Apr 15:40 next collapse

So the legislative, executive, and the judicial is in cahoots. The Constitution is dead, and there’s no longer any moral or legal basis for the states to remain in the union

technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 10 Apr 15:42 next collapse

You gotta remember capital controls the state, not vice versa.

If capitalists can gain more power by converting to crypto and abandoning state currencies, they’ll do it.

This is a big part of why crypto keeps going.

kameecoding@lemmy.world on 10 Apr 16:09 next collapse
