Watch the proton ceo ignore this while claiming the Trump administration “wants to regulate big tech”

Comtief@lemm.ee on 05 Mar 2025 22:27 collapse

I don’t understand.

JasonDJ@lemmy.zip on 05 Mar 2025 23:45 collapse

Nor do I. Wasn’t the Proton CEO kissing the ring a few weeks ago?

Comtief@lemm.ee on 05 Mar 2025 23:55 collapse

Apparently that was a misunderstanding, he communicated badly. Or I’m thinking of something else, idk. archive.ph/xoleo

Bro... Under the current regime, no big tech will be touched

unpossum@sh.itjust.works on 05 Mar 2025 20:56 collapse

Killing Google to serve as a warning that the rest of them had better follow orders might be useful…

sunzu2@thebrainbin.org on 05 Mar 2025 21:46 next collapse

They all kissed the ring... They are all working with trump

bobs_monkey@lemm.ee on 05 Mar 2025 22:49 collapse

Eh I don’t see that happening, the sheer amount of data Google has on the US population is probably quite useful to the admin, for, uh, reasons.

Microsoft got off the hook when Bush II took office. Tech in general took that as a sign that monopolies were fine. That was just starting to be reversed when Trump took a second term and here we are.

kitnaht@lemmy.world on 05 Mar 2025 20:14 next collapse

Can we get some actual tech related news please? This is just politics OF a tech company, not tech itself.

crank0271@lemmy.world on 05 Mar 2025 21:55 collapse

What’s the last significant tech development you remember? They’re all just monopolistic lobbying firms.

Mahle SCT/MCT Hybrid no-contact electric motor, the one that doesn’t need brushes or rare earth metals.

This community has done nothing but bitch about technology - there doesn’t seem to be anyone here that actually enjoys technology, so much as they like bitching about technology.

crank0271@lemmy.world on 06 Mar 2025 13:35 collapse

This is cool - I hadn’t heard of it. This article describes it (while being suspiciously similar to the press release itself): newatlas.com/…/mahle-perfect-electric-motor/

hark@lemmy.world on 05 Mar 2025 23:00 next collapse

You know what? They should be broken up even harder.
