The hardware unboxed video has more details, and squarely points the blame at Intel for previously saying that running the CPU at uncapped power was in spec.

Interesting. I’ve got an i9 an Valheim was regularly shutting down my computer after 5 - 10mins. No BSOD, it would just shut down.

After I abandoned Windows and installed Linux not only does it not crash now, it even runs much smoother in my giant castle. So I assume it also has to do with the OS.
